The American Library Association does not teach librarians to report child pornography to the police. Instead, the association has vigorously opposed all congressional efforts to restrict pornography, obscenity and child pornography for more than a decade.Hooray for the American Library Association!

Again, the message is very clear: if you are government, you obey your superior, NO MATTER THE ORDERS. Even if you're ordered to break the law, you must because otherwise you lose your job. OBEY GOVERNMENT! No matter what. OR ELSE.
I'm trained as a librarian, but stuff like that is a big reason I'm not a member of ALA. ALA may as well be a wholly owned subsidiary of the Democratic Party--and the most liberal wing of the Democratic Party at that.
