Chicks in black spandex jumpsuits flinging ninja stars and firing guns that cause massive explosions. Boring.
Sultry teenage boys glowering. It's so passé.
We need a new kind of creature. One that's unexpected, one that doesn't follow convention, one that is totally unpredictable and wild*.
We need a movie series about Weresloths.
Can't you see it now? Terse, cliche-ridden dialogue ... moments of total panic ... ominous music ... yawning. Sort of like this, only with more dark, brooding teens.
* - Well, maybe not wild. More unexpected.

Years ago, I saw an episode of "The New Adventures of Mighty Mouse" that included the animal superhero "The Sloth". It took him the whole episode to throw just one punch, but he ultimately connected with the bad guy and Saved the Day (after which his sidekick loaded him onto a cart and pushed him back home).
