What a horrible way to deface a beautiful window into the Earth's past. I long for the day that a majority of the population are educated enough about geology to view an open pit mine as a beautiful thing (though not necessarily an improvement on Mother Nature). Besides, like my T-shirt says, "strip mining prevents forest fires."
