My darling Elf's family is Italian. (Lots and lots of mafia jokes.)
We don't watch the show (obviously...) but can't avoid seeing bits and drabs here and there; neither of us had the least clue that they considered themselves "Italian."
And on top of this at least one of them isn't even of Italian descent.
