The Real Conspiracy was the Conspiracy Theory

My son came up with this one and it’s too good not to share.

What if the government conspiracy was not to blow up the World Trade Center, but instead was to make us think they did it? That is, the real conspiracy is the conspiracy theory.

Imagine: the citizens are getting uppity. No one listens to the government’s lectures on the hazards of moist hands when replacing light bulbs or the public service messages about covering your mouth when you sneeze. People don’t respect the government. Then 9/11 happens and government officials in secret meeting rooms see their chance to regain the upper hand. All they have to do is make people believe that the government was all-knowing, all-seeing and all-powerful to pull off such an attack themselves.

The result? A terrified populace, pliable and obedient. Who’s going to argue with their kid’s 3rd grade teacher when all she has to do is make a phone call to a secret number and a 727 will be caroming off the side of their house?

Think about it.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

On your conspiracy was the conspiracy, I don't put anything past the Bush administration or the US Government. No offense to you, since you are in Government. :)

Clearly your tin foil hat has come loose allowing the governments thought rays to influence you...

Seriously though, Katrina and Iraq have put to rest any fears of an all knowing, all powerful government to rest.
