World of Good, WOG Contest Style

Welcome to another World of Good (WOG) here at The Scratching Post. Today I have something special for all of you. A WOG contest! I have two really cool videos of Coalition soldiers doing good things in Iraq and you get to vote on which one you like best. You can even write a short comment letting me know what you liked about either of them. The videos are both only 90 seconds long, so you don't have to sit through a lot of blather. Enough introduction. On with the show.

Many of us have had donation drives at our schools or workplaces to send goods to the children of Iraq. Have you ever seen what it looks like when they're donated? Well, now you can. Brent Walker who is in Baghdad, Iraq, posted this video of our troops handing them out on YouTube.

Some of our troops are in the Army Corps of Engineers. These fellows working all across Iraq on construction projects. There's not enough time in the day to talk about all of the great things they're doing. Here's just a tiny bit about a kindergarten they built.

Now that you've seen them both, let the games begin! Go ahead and vote now. Remember, after you make your selection, you have to click on "Vote".

Thanks in advance for any and all comments! If you've never left a comment on a blog before, you will need to type the graphic letters you see in the WORD VERIFICATION box before you click "Publish". This is done to prevent computers from automatically posting unwanted comments.

Oh, my goodness. How to choose! How to choose! I guess I'll have to flip a coin. Both of these videos are really great -- showing wonderful things our Corps of Engineers are doing.

Just too bad these will never get real air time (no offense KT!).

That these exist and receive no play time on any "real" network, shows just how out of touch those folks are, and that they really would rather have us lose to the terrorists, (Oops! that wasn't PC enough..) the "insurgents", than admit that they are wrong.

What's most surprising to me is that they get no play time on the pro-war blogs, either. I've been beating this drum for a while now with other bloggers with very little success. However, everyone has time for a little more red meat - a criticism of their opponents or pointing out some hypocrisy or lies.

Constructive actions must be less interesting than attacks.

I like the idea of choosing between a couple of videos. Michael Yon is saying that the Pentagon should put more effort into PR, and this is one way to do it. They should be out there talking blogs into putting them up on their sites, like you do.

I have added you to my morning 'to read' list. You have a great site.

I liked the second one more, but TBH it was just because it was more well-produced.

I'll have a little war-related blogging going on soon at my place.

Thanks, Heather.

I believe everyone ought to browse on it.
