San Diego Has A New Bishop!

Here, Bishop McElroy names his successor. Who says there isn't a strong youth movement in the Catholic Church?
This weekend I was blessed to participate in the San Diego Diocesan Synod on the Family. It was a beautiful thing and we came up with many recommendations on how the Church in San Diego can better serve the needs of families in whatever state they might be.

Now the Diocese will take our recommendations and form them into workable plans to be implemented both at the Diocese and within the parishes. I feel really good about what's happening here and can see how this Synod will lead to happier, healthier and more loving families and communities.

In all seriousness about Bishop McElroy, he was a pleasure to meet. Smart, cheerful and very kind, he's a terrific leader for the Diocese. Dittos for the many priests who participated in the event.
