The Reality Of Kabul

I've got three or so pieces in my head*, but due to family commitments, I don't have time to write today. Instead, I'll leave you with this montage of personal videos shot by marines and soldiers in Kabul during the recent, chaotic evacuations. It gives lie to all the assurances that the thing was anticipated, well-planned, executed professionally and was a success.

Of special note is that none of the brass have resigned, either in protest or in shame. Instead, they're back to hunting down extremists and racists in the military.

This is the worst leadership class in the history of the country.

In any case, watch and marvel at what it was really like at Kabul Airport.

* - And not much else.

FUBAR. Pure unadulterated FUBAR. Every member of the Joint Chiefs should resign. They should choose between these two types of statements:

1) The President of the United States consulted with us and accepted our plan for the final withdrawl from Afghanistan. This plan clearly failed. In order to be faithful to our duty, honor, and the fine men and women who proudly serve under us, we are forced to submit our resignations. /s/

or

2) The President of the United States consulted with us for a strategy to withdrawl from Afghanistan. He did not follow our recommendations. Given that he has demonstrated a complete lack of confidence in our military judgement, we are compelled by our duty, honor, and responsibility to the fine men and women who proudly serve under us, to submit our resignations. /s/

Obviously there is a more damning version of 2 that starts "The President of the United States did not consult with us".

That's what should have already happened. It hasn't and won't. This is what having a woke military leads to. No sense of shame. No sense of honor. No sense of duty. No responsibility. No accountability. I weep for my grandchildren's future...

The sanitation part of the video was utterly predictable. When they sent 5,000 guys into Kabul airport, the first thing I wondered was how they were going to deal with all that sewage? The answer was, they weren't. Like their bosses cared. All the Important People who spoke to the press never saw that, living in Arlington, Alexandria and Rosslyn like they do.
