As I pack up to leave Seattle (mostly by stamping out the embers and putting the raccoons back in their cages), I'm marveling at how thoroughly I made a mess of this hotel room and how fast I did it. I swear, within about 10 minutes of my arrival, there are clothes everywhere, electronic gadgets plugged in and towels on the floor. It's like my suitcase had a bomb that was scheduled to explode 5 minutes after my arrival at the room. I must have chucked it in, ducked behind the wall and waited for the concussions to die down.
I'm an organized packer. I'm an organized re-packer when I'm leaving. When it comes to unpacking, I'm the Tasmanian Devil and I don't know why.
Maybe it's just a lot of fun.

I realize bedbugs are an issue in a lot of hotels, but isn't luggage-bombing them a bit much?.
