The News Media is not There to Inform You

It's all about conflict, confrontation and arguments. Dig this exchange between Fred Thompson and some muffin head from the Today Show:

The moral of the story is this. If you want to be informed, turn off the TV. The less TV you watch, the more informed you will be. They are not there to help you understand the world around you. They couldn't care less. All they want are viewers so they can make money off of advertising. They've found that if they make things more confrontational, they get more viewers. It's as simple as that.

The difference between the Today Show and Jerry Springer is one of tone, nothing else.

Huh. Do you have any idea what incident it was that they reported without asking? I thought most all of his press had been pretty positive.

I hope he hangs on until we get a chance to vote.

Rose, Mitt Romney's campaign was spreading lies about Thompson dropping out of the race, trying to incite anger between Thompson and McCain.
