Artichoke Flower

I got sucked in to a project today and only broke free now, so today's post will be a photo I took yesterday of wife kitteh's artichoke plant. I used the 105 mm howitzer macro lens for this one. I liked the way it came out, but felt it could use some adjustments. I brought it into Photoshop and played with the color curves for all of 30 seconds and called it good enough. Enjoy!

Before.

After.

There we go! Depth of field is good without sacrificing brightness.

The blossom makes the heritage of artichokes pretty clear. It looks exactly like a thistle blossom, because artichokes are domesticated thistles.
