I'm at Adobe MAX this week and just got to hear from Quentin Tarantino. I'm not a fan of his movies, but after hearing him talk, I respect him as a craftsman much more. He's modest even as he acknowledges his own success. His modesty is revealed in his love for the work required to master his art.
Pretty cool.

My husband was in a related field for a while before the Navy; he admires the guy's sheer talent and skill to a degree that I can barely understand a lot of the details.
Apparently he actually pays attention to a lot of the "little" stuff, like making sure the @#$@# glass has the right amount in it for all the scenes, and that the dead body still has blood on it, and...well, details like that which you may not even notice-notice, but really hit your sense of reality.
