A Little Henry Mancini on a Friday Morning

I came home late from work last night, turned on the tube and on TCM found the second Inspector Clouseau movie, A Shot in the Dark playing. Watching it to the end was the right thing to do because it reaquainted me with Mancini's most excellent theme song, played here by the Joe Loss Orchestra. Enjoy.

I love that movie! I actually like it better than the ones with "Pink Panther" in their names.

Dreyfus: "And now eight more dead!"
Clouseau: "But they were all murderers, except for Maurice, who was a blackmailer!"

Love that movie and the original Pink Panther. You point out something I was thinking the other day while watching the first couple of James Bond films. There was some great movie music created in the 60's and 70's. You don't hear that style of instrumental Jazz much anyone.

@Kelly: The soundtrack to "The Incredibles" has that kind of retro "cool jazz" feeling your thinking of. Calls to mind the 1960s James Bond films. Great movie, too, BTW. One of my favorites.

Niall, I went over to YouTube and listened to the Incredibles theme. Great catch! I loved it.

By the way, did you know that Henry Mancini also wrote the theme to Mission Impossible? Crazy, man!
