What Good Is An Obamacare Website If You Can't Read?

Yes, yes, I know. The website is an expensive catastrophe. The law is having monstrous unintended consequences as insurance companies are cancelling policies that don't comply with the mandates, possibly at a faster rate than people can sign up, meaning that O-care is actually increasing the ranks of the uninsured. There aren't enough young idiots signing up to pay huge fees for health care they don't need. It's all snowballing into disaster. But consider, for a moment, what will happen if it all works.

In Detroit, 47% of the adult population is functionally illiterate. That number is disputed, but it hardly matters when the real number is almost certainly within 10 points of it. Just what are these people going to do with an insurance policy exchange website?

That is why the president was telling people to call 1-800-F1UCK-YO. Which in turn didn't work.

For people in 150 different languages, that might be a viable option if it worked.

What about people who speak other languages? I guess they will have to pay the tax penalty.

That's what the "Navigators" are for.
