... and I hate the stupid thing. It went out and converted all my music to a format it likes and now my Internet backup program, Mozy, is backing it all up. Two days of backing up these new, extraneous files created by iTunes.
What a piece of junk.

That's why I don't let it touch my music files.
I have my podcasts, and that's it.
Didn't think the conversion to AAC files was mandatory? Were your files in MP3 format?
I used to fight with iTunes and the way it organized my music files, but have since learned to let it do its thing.
Always go through the configuration options before loosing a program. iTunes has never tried to convert my MP3s.
