Why the Election Doesn't Matter as Much as you Might Think

David Brooks has a very good thought piece that I don't think I can improve on.

Meanwhile, our Precentor of Measurements has a similar post with an anecdote that reinforces David Brooks.

I dunno, isn't there a bit more to the election than people's borrowing habits? The war against the jihadists, immigration, Supreme Court appointments, the fact that one nominee is an inexperienced senator with a messiahnic complex and very poor judgement while the other is John McCain to name a few.
Young men who think they know all the answers are kinda dangerous to my way of thinking.

Also if you think it won't make much difference, check out this critique of Obama's Iraq 'plan'.

Hi, ligneus! Long time, no hear!

I liked the article because it points out the cultural shift towards immediate gratification and the expectation of wealth without effort. I also agree with you that the war and the judges are very important and unaffected by this.

Hi KT, Yes it is, I don't have much time these days, it's difficult enough keeping up with the reading without posting and commenting. However, you are on my regular reading list, I'll try to do better with the commenting.
