The Difference Between Democrat and Republican Politicians

Our $400B deficit works out to about $5700 more debt for a family of four...

A Republican politician will take his family into a Wal-Mart, buy $5700 worth of stuff and then at the register point to his kids and tell the checker, "Bill them."

A Democrat will do the same thing and then add, "We'll be back tomorrow."

Update: Dig this comparison of Hillary and Obama when it comes to spending. Hundreds of billions more in spending.

Cute post but it has no basis in reality.

Whatever one might say about the Clinton administration, it balanced the national budget (despite being handed a deficit).

The past three Republican administrations have shown shocking levels of fiscal irresponsibility. McCain briefly ran on a platform of fiscal responsibility, but backpeddled when his Republican base pressured him to support the Bush tax cuts.

Amazingly, the Democrats went from being the "tax and spend" party to being more fiscally conservative than Republicans.

Steven, don't kid yourself. Had it not been for Newt's Congress, that budget would never have been balanced. Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution clearly lays out the responsibility for the budget and it belongs to Congress.
