An Open Letter to our TiVo

Dear TiVo,

We've all known each other for quite some time now. We've had some good times together, watching NFL games, the History Channel and old movies. We've done our best to show you the kinds of programs we like to see by giving them the thumbs up signs and the kinds of programs we don't want to see by giving them the thumbs down.

I'm sure you've noticed recently how we've been recording many NFL games. Sometimes we record them by scheduling them in advance, sometimes we record them manually as the game is going on. At no time have we ever shown you any interest in any of the pre-game, post-game or mid-week analysis shows. Nor have we shown you any interest in highlight and summary shows. All we've asked for is to see the NFL games themselves. Despite this, you continually record the ancillary NFL shows, but ignore the games themselves.

We would truly appreciate it in the future if you could find it in your little, electronic heart to record these for us when you have spare time and we have not asked for them specifically. We would appreciate that much more than, say, you recording another horror movie for us (which we loathe) or perhaps something on Lifetime (which bores us to tears).

Please consider recording NFL games for us from now on. We would be ever so grateful.

Sincerely,
K T Cat and Jacob the Syrian Hamster

My TiVo is new, so this may be it's way to get a raise or something, but do you think your TiVo could talk to mine and tell it to stop recording Dancing With the Stars? Thanks!
