Maintaining Your Status As A Victim

 ... is absolutely crucial because being a bigger victim that the other person is how you get rewarded.

The left, which owns entertainment, the academy and the news media, has completely bought in to the Marxist concept of some groups oppressing other groups. For Marx, it was owners oppressing workers. For Hitler, it was Jews oppressing Germans. These days, in America, there is a rank order of victimization between groups, aka Intersectionality.

If you're at or near the top, you get reparations like the blacks or flags and parades like the LGBTQWERTY people. If you're at the bottom, like straight, white males, you get the blame and the bill. At the very, very bottom are straight, white, conservative, Christian, Southern men. They get their heritage trashed, their symbols banned, their statues torn down and their culture slandered in public.

 It's OK to hate the people at the bottom. You must love the people at the top.

So there are huge stakes in the struggle to maintain your group's victim status. There are very significant and tangible, real-world consequences to falling down the rankings.

Like all Marxist-derived ideas, the premise of the rankings is stupefyingly idiotic. For instance, blacks have very little in common with each other outside of their skin. Like every group, some are hard-working and some are lazy. Some are smart and some are stupid. Some are pillars of the community and some are sociopaths. Inevitably, there will be heroes among them and there will be villains. The same goes for every group in our intersectionality standings.

Some trans people are OK, even if they are confused about their gender. Some trans people are homicidal loons, perhaps made homicidal by doses of testosterone that would get a professional athlete suspended for a year.

Inevitably, one of the sociopaths in the make-believe group the progressives have made for you will do something horrific. Maybe a white guy who likes Robert E. Lee will burn down a black church. Maybe a non-binary guy will shoot up a nightclub. Because the progs own the media and the marketing departments, you and the other members of your group will be made to answer for it.

Remember, there is a HUGE penalty to be paid for dropping in the victim standings.

It was perfectly predictable, then, that when the trans maniac shot up the Christian school that the left would knock over their podiums in their frantic rush to shout into the microphone that, really, the slaughter was all the fault of the conservatives and Christians.

I picked those three at random. There are tons more.

What we're seeing is a direct result of the idiotic notion that we all share a fantasy victim/oppressor status with people we've never met who possess similar, nearly-irrelevant characteristics with us. When we discarded the notion of people as individuals, each with a unique personality and experiences, and instead, substituted group identity as the primary feature, this was bound to happen.

So long as the progs own the media, entertainment, the academy, the marketing and HR departments of the major corporations, we're doomed to see this. This is how they see the world.

Instead of howling at their double standards or their hypocrisy or their rationalizations of psychotic mass-murderers killing innocent people, we need to directly fight the underlying idea. Until we defeat racial and sexual grouping and return to seeing each other as unique individuals, equally loved by God, this is going to keep happening.

You are right that there is a regrettable tendency of people to think that they need to maintain their victim status. Why, you even give a perfect example of it:

"If you're at the bottom, like straight, white males, you get the blame and the bill. At the very, very bottom are straight, white, conservative, Christian, Southern men. They get their heritage trashed, their symbols banned, their statues torn down and their culture slandered in public."

That sure looks like trying to wrap yourself in the mantle of victimhood to me. It strikes me as a fine example of the "notion that we all share a fantasy victim/oppressor status with people we've never met who possess similar, nearly-irrelevant characteristics with us."

You are also correct that we would all be better off if we "return to seeing each other as unique individuals", although this sentiment rings a bit hollow coming at the end of a long rant against generic "leftists" and "progs", rather than against actual named individuals.

In any case, I think the whole kerfluffle about "why did they do it?" and "who is the victim here" is massively missing the point.

The point is that people are:

1) Making a conscious decision to do evil, without anyone noticing that they have gone insane (or at least not having any idea what to do about it if they do notice);
2) Planning out what they are going to do without anybody picking up that they are behaving strangely;
3) Buying weapons freely with no questions, and then;
4) Committing a mass murder without anyone doing anything about it until it is way too late, amidst wailing about how "no one could have seen that coming!"

Asking "why did they do it?" only matters if you are actually going to use the answer to the question to identify future mass murderers, and stop them from committing murders. Anything else is just gossiping about a tragedy, and helps no one.

Does the victim status ranking exist or not? If it does, what are the rewards for being at the top? What are the penalties for being at the bottom?

If it exists, is it claiming victim status to notice the rank order?

You're actually questioning the existence of Marxism and its derivatives like critical theory. Marxism and its children all require:

1. Separating the population into easily-detected groups

2. Rank ordering those groups

3. Doling out rewards and punishments according to the rankings.

I'm confused. Is it playing the victim to notice the rankings? Do I have Marxism wrong? Do I have the derivatives wrong?

Tim - Sure it sounds like wrapping himself in victimhood. Because that is how everyone sounds. Oh poor me… my 5 times great grandfather was spit on by their 6 times great grandfather. They owe me (job, $, etc). Boo hoo hoo.

The only way to fight back is to also be a victim. Anything else you stay at the bottom of the hierarchy. I agree with every word KT wrote.

Maybe it is my ‘white backlash’ or CAUdacity, but I am past giving a sh*t what others think they ‘deserve’, or how I am a horrible racist because of my skin color. It is time we live up to MLK’s dream of judging by Character not the color of their skin (or any other damn fool, possibly self-chosen, characteristic). Anything else is asking for trouble.

Allow me to revise and extend my remarks.

The only way this ends is for straight, white, conservative, Christian men to decide to be the last acceptable targets of hate. We have to make a conscious decision that no one will ever take our place at the bottom. Instead, we work towards recognizing each other as individuals so the rank ordering disappears because the grouping disappears. In the best of all worlds, there's no such thing as top or bottom.

No vengeance, no accusations, no finger pointing, just a decision to stop grouping people.

And no, to anticipate your question, I haven't been doing this very successfully myself. It's an idea that only recently popped into my head.
