My grocery store likes to put their CFL's in flimsy cardboard displays near the ends of the aisles (high traffic areas). Oh goody! I've spoken to a couple of the employees about it, but that hasn't changed anything. Need to step up my campaign a bit.
I use CFLs extensively in lights that I leave on for very long times (front porch, etc). And for the rest, I feel obligated to leave them on longer than needed.
The CFLs don't really last longer, but I just enjoy running them more.

I'm not using CFLs; they can't make me.
