A San Diego Christmas

I was walking along the Mission Beach / Pacific Beach boardwalk yesterday when I spied this family out getting their toes wet in the surf. It was a very San Diego kind of Christmas scene. Click on the image and see if you can imagine the man working his feet back and forth, burying them in the salty sand just for fun.

You have sun. We have rain and fog.

Somehow the Christmas Traditions that involve snow glistening, and sleigh bells don't quite mesh. On a ski trip I'll see Christmas lights reflect on snow, and think, you know, we really need to come up with something, still appropriate to the season, that fits OUR climate.

What it would be, I don't know. The cliche Santa in a Hawaiian shirt and shades is a start I guess... but...

Ya know what I mean?

Anyways, Merry Christmas, KT and Jacob. Almost ready for tomorrow morning.
