Decreasing Premiums by 3000%

... would amount to free health care for every living thing on this planet, including the insects. After which we would all be able to buy ourselves Ferraris with the profits.

Check out this video around 1:11 in:

He's now just spouting nonsense. I particularly liked the part where the crowd booed and hissed at the mention of insurance companies. After they've eaten all private enterprise, what will they do then?

Who is John Galt?

It's getting weirder. Now the HealthCARE(?) bill will also cover disasters like an imaginary earthquake in Hawaii.

Yes, and all of these is for the betterment of our countrymen... I just thought that since this is out in the open then at least they do something about how people accepted it., a more extensive info drive perhaps to at least show that it MIGHT not be so bad at all...

Hitler's Propaganda Minister Goebbels, said something like, "Tell a big enough lie long enough and people will believe it." This is really getting scary!

Huh. Wouldn't any decrease of more than 100% mean that the insurance company would have to pay *you* for the privilege of providing your insurance?

Mish Shedlock, who turned me on to this little bit of madness, worked out that if you paid $5,000 a year in health care premiums, a 3000% cut would mean that your employer would pay you $145,000 to receive health care.

Whoohoo! Time to party!

CZ, that's exactly what I thought. I didn't see this as a slip of the tongue. How could an educated person claim that the price of anything was going to decrease by 3000%? I think ht's testing out the waters to see just what he can and can't get away with. This is a lot like "jobs created or saved." He can say anything he wants and the crowd he's with eats it up.

Maria, this is most certainly not for the betterment of our countrymen. If it were, Greece wouldn't be going bankrupt. Argentina, Venezuela and any number of other nations have tried this and ended up with a financial catastrophe. Everything the government hands out is something taken from someone who has earned it. Giving things to people who haven't earned them never works for their betterment unless they're incapacitated in some way.

I STILL can't figure out if the iWon is a witless buffoon or a brilliant, albeit Nazi-esque tyrant in the making......
