... is a halfway decent teleportation system. Then we could visit friends in distant cities and never have to interact with a broken iBahn. We'd just teleport home and use our own, comfortable, WORKING Interweb Tubes.

What makes you think that the teleportation link would be any more stable than the internet? ;-)
With my luck, the teleportation server (?) would go down just as I started the journey and who knows where or when I would end up.
