The Obama Adminstration used a bunch of MD supporters like dress-up dolls for a recent photo op and handed out white lab coats to all of them in the audience. That way, when the press took photos of the President with some of them, the truly dim among us would think, "Oh. They must be doctors. They're wearing those white doctor coats." The rest of us thought, "What a bunch of tools."
So what kind of Party City Halloween Costumes would they have handed out if their supporters had been there to support National Transvestite Protection Day? How about Mime Awareness Week? Manned Spaceflight Appreciation Month?
One can only imagine.

What, no diplomas?
The most ridiculous part of it is, nobody I know wears their lab coat/shop coat outside of the lab/shop. It's protective gear, like an apron. Wearing it as routine attire kind of defeats its whole reason for existence.
I do wear one lab coat outside the lab (it says "Mad Scientists Union, Local 3.14" on the back), but that's a special case.
Tim, exactly what I was thinking. It's what an eight-year-old expects a doctor to look like all the time.
Ivyan, if they'd been professors, they could have handed out mortarboards.
Handed out?
Condoms?
WV unche Un Che? Good idea!
KT, thanks for the link.
And to think that Michael Deaver took a lot of grief for his photo ops.
