After Iran gets the bomb, they will start replicating it and handing it out to terrorist proxies who will start using it. Since the things will be untraceable and be operated by non-state actors it will be almost impossible to find someone to punish and destroy. Instead, there will be a series of blasts destroying cities or large chunks of them followed by hopeless detective work to root out an ever-pixelating set of terrorist entities.
One city and then another and then another will be blown away until America or some combination of super powers finally comes to the conclusion that the only way to stop this will be to control every square inch of the Earth's surface.
End result: The Roman Empire, ca. 2020.

Sad, but true. If we don't wake up and get a grip like real fast, we are doomed. As long as Obama is more interested in calling his own people the enemy - instead of the jihadists - we are on a path to destruction. It's not the world I wanted to leave my kids, but they voted for this horror., fooled by the slick lies, and lulled by the false sense of security they grew up with.
I'm (slightly) more sanguine about this than you are. Nuclear weapons are not completely untraceable. Iran's leaders are not complete idiots. The purpose of their bomb may be to deter Sunni neighbors rather than to ignite the Apocalypse.
Maybe I'm just whistling past the graveyard in view of the inevitability of Iran's acquisition of a bomb. Also, I live in the continental interior 45 miles from the nearest urban center.
I'm more concerned about Pak nukes than Persian nukes, because a) they are already extant b) Terrorists could have their mitts on them in a couple of months.
I agree with Jeff, the nukes in Pakistan are at far greater risk of ending up in terrorist hands. That said if a terrorist were to use a nuke I see both Iran and N. Korea likely being turned into a waste land just as a message to other countries to leash their violent friends.
