The New York Times, ever on the lookout for more revenue sources to feed the 14 PSI vacuum that is the government, has the answer to the fertility crisis that threatens the tax base.

Wonder of wonders, it calls for more government intervention. Just like the Nordic countries have.

Err, there's just one problem with that.

This leads me back to the famous Thomas Sowell quote and my musings on sex, Sex, SEX!

The tradeoff in question is tradwife vs career boss-babe. We're not having babies because women are waiting too long to get married. You can either focus on education and career or you can find a man, get a ring and make with the horizontal monkey dance. Yes, you can do both, but the longer you wait, the fewer babies you will have.

If having babies is any kind of goal, and survival subtly hints that it should be, you can't be waiting until you are in your mid-30s to get down to business. It's not much more complicated than that.

The problem isn't a lack of government spending, it's that we are emphasizing career and education over family, consciously making that trade-off decision that we value women's agency and self-reliance more than we do babies.

You don't have to  make a moral judgment either way to see that this is what's happening.

Jonah Goldberg's Theology At Work In England

The second video below, from Peter Boghossian, was interesting for about 5 minutes or so. It might have been interesting for longer than that, but I turned it off because it had so many problems.

First, however a preliminary video from Peter.

The fact that Peter can't understand why no Islamists wanted to come on his show is telling. Their goal is to turn Europe Muslim. Just what Peter has to contribute to that effort, I'm sure I don't know. They have absolutely nothing to gain by going on his blatherfest of a show.

Now the main show.

The question at hand is: will Europeans surrender to Islam? Lacking an Islamist to make the argument in favor, the conversation in both directions reminded me of Jonah Goldberg's defenses of religion.

I don't listen to Jonah any more, but back in the day, I recall him saying he wasn't a believer, but studies had shown that a culture with a strong faith tradition did 37% better in terms of dhsa ;fa  dcnwaf as.

OK, I fell asleep at that point, but he said something like that.

It was all as bloodless as only someone convinced he is an intellectual can make it. As I watched those 5 minutes of the group discussion about surrendering to Islam, it felt exactly like that. I thought about the argument I would have made on the pro-surrender side. I would have taken my best shot at being a devout Muslim for the sake of the discussion. Here's what I would have said after the case had been made for religion leading to more happiness and a better life like it was some kind of diet and exercise regimen.

When was the last time you prayed? When was the last time you went to temple or church? We pray every day. In fact, we have pulled out our prayer mats and deliberately stopped traffic in your streets to pray in the middle of your cities. Do you really think you're going to stand up to that kind of devout faith with a pile of sociology studies?

Your leaders hate you. They arrest you if you say anything against us or deface a Koran. They do this because your entire education system believes that you, your race and your culture are irredeemably evil. They all hate you and none of them will ever support you. They think that your culture would be improved by importing the Congolese. The Congolese! That tells you just how much they despise you. How are you going to stand up against us with leadership like that?

You're living in a surveillance state the tracks your movement, your communications and your social media posts. How do you plan on organizing any resistance to us when your authorities will stamp it out as soon as they see it? Your police arrest you for saying nasty things about Islam, but let us go when we rape your girls. Heck, we raped over 100,000 of them and your leaders and social workers and police and intellectuals didn't just sit and watch, they actively and intentionally aided and abetted the rapes!

At the younger demographics, you're already outnumbered in your large cities. In places like France, it's actually illegal to count how many of us there are because the authorities don't want you to know how bad things are. They hate you that much.

Finally, if push comes to shove, and with us, it always does, who among you is going to fight? We are willing to fight and die for Islam. We are raised to believe that Allah will reward us handsomely if we die spreading Islam. Our young men are driven to courageous and violent action by their devout faith. Meanwhile, you can't even remember the last time you muttered a quiet prayer.

It's not that you will surrender to us. It's that you already have.

Reply to that one, infidels.

Your leadership, your universities, your news media and your police all hate you. You might as well make it easy on yourselves and surrender now.

Take This Simple Deportation Test!

 ... it only has two questions.

1. Are you here illegally?
2. Are you fluent in English?

If your answer is Yes to 1 and No to 2, congratulations, you've won a free trip to the border!

That is not to say that if your answer to 2 is Yes you get to stay, but in the first round of deportations, this is a simple and valuable way to do what the government is morally bound to do - make the lives of American citizens better.

Here is the Great Schools link for Forest Park High School in Baltimore. It is majority black and majority illiterate. Its graduates can barely speak English. There is no chance they know any Spanish. If they want to chart a productive and happy life, they are going to need entry-level, no-skill opportunities in the labor market. Two primary career paths are construction and housekeeping. If those workforces communicate in Spanish, our black American young adults are doomed.

Those job sites will speak Spanish so long as the population they draw from speaks Spanish. The illegals come in with a wage advantage for employers, so they will dominate those workforces so long as they're here in this country.

The government has a moral duty to protect and care for American citizens. It has no duty to citizens of Honduras, Congo or Syria.

America and Americans first, baby.

The Borders Of Los Angeles

 ... do not extend to the Rio Grande.

As the rioting and protesting continues in LA these days over ICE law enforcement efforts, there is something missing as we discuss them. We need to hear the opinions of the people of Montana.

The national border is just that: national. It isn't the Los Angeles border or the California border or the border of the people who live in the barrio. It's the border of the United States of America. Just because you live close to it or you are Hispanic, it doesn't mean your opinion should carry more weight than the opinions of Filipino-Americans living in Rhode Island or Scotch-Irish-Americans living in Mississippi.

In fact, we had a referendum on this very topic last November and we decided, as a nation, to evict as many illegals as we possibly could as fast as we possibly could. It doesn't get much simpler than that.

Los Angelinos don't think you get a say in border enforcement.

When Loyalty Oaths Conflict With Iconic Images

 ... you get a sense of the end times for the organization in question. Dig these two images.

Burning cars, rocks thrown at ICE vehicles, federal law enforcement officers being physically attacked and shops being looted equals "without incident" for the LAPD public affairs team. Like I said yesterday, that wasn't a press release as much as it was a loyalty oath. "See, boss? I'm on your side!"

This kind of thing happens in all organizations at all levels. It's human nature to try to stay on your superior's good side. When it happens while the organization is in steep decline, it has more than its normal air of decay. It's like the classic scene from Downfall where the Nazi toadies are still showing Hitler over-the-top deference even as the Soviets are closing in on the bunker.

The LA riots over the weekend weren't nearly as bad as that nor were they widespread across LA county. Still, they happened and people all over the country could see what was happening, almost live, from videos posted to X by citizen-journalists. To ignore them, as many Sunday news programs did, or to deny the violence as the LAPD did above, adds a strong flavor of surreal decadence to it.

It's not gaslighting if everyone knows that everyone else can see the truth right in front of their faces. It's something else.

It's a loyalty oath to a regime visibly unraveling.

On The Use Of Artillery In The Los Angeles ICE Riots

Here are some random reactions I had while sipping my morning coffee and scrolling through X, focusing on the far-left spasms of violence protesting the arrest of criminals by ICE. As I scrolled, the artillery aspect became paramount as it is the rioters primary weapon, the secondary, close-combat weapon being fire.

Let's do this.

First off, we have the question of projectile size, range and the sustainment of fire.

Just guessing here, but it looks like those noodle-armed soyboys can throw 2# rocks about 100'. Many moons ago, I blew out my arm playing outfield for a softball team after not properly warming up ahead of time. I still remember the exact moment it happened. My shoulder hurts just watching these dorks throw.

How long will it take the riot police to close that 100 foot gap? How much damage will a 2# rock do with a soft ballistic trajectory against men in body armor and helmets?

Moving on, let's look at some close combat.

Nothing says "fighting for the marginalized" quite like pasty-faced radicals and Chicano thugs teaming up to attack a Hispanic's convenience store. It's their typical tactic of ganging up on a property owner who operates outside of law enforcement's protective perimeter.

The "resistance" isn't targeting ICE units or even things of interest to ICE. They are simply burning and looting businesses that matter to the authorities who support the resistance. Winning!

Imagine how this is playing outside of the blue zones. In fact, imagine how this is playing in the New York and Chicago neighborhoods where the black residents were enraged when their cities cut their social services to pay for the illegals.

Returning to the authorities, the LA and California blues are in full Baghdad Bob mode.

Why on Earth would anyone ever post this? It doesn't calm the situation and only shreds your credibility, lowering the morale of your combat units. It's baffling to me. The only explanation I can give is that this is the same thing that was done in the last days of the Ceausescu regime. It's not a news release, it's a loyalty oath.

Platoon-Level Engagements In Sweden

One young girl of 27 — let's call her Lucy— is now terrified of going out alone. She lives near a busy shopping centre which draws migrants from no-go zones, and dreads her walk to work and home.

Under the bridge near her flat a gang of men gathers. All day and night. They have easy access to her up a stairwell...

I saw it in action when I ran to the scene of an unexploded hand grenade in a bin outside the police station of a no-go area of town, near a mosque. I asked the police who the target was...

Later I went back to walk the no-go suburbs, ending up back in the centre of the town. A week earlier this place was torched and looted as the world looked on.

I wondered what was strange, besides the weird calm. And realised it was that I was the only woman in the place. Everyone else was young, African and male. Speaking Arabic. Hanging about, utterly without purpose.

Frustrated, I asked a few of them what they were doing, what was the point, what they would ever achieve by standing about. The mum in me was furious.

'F*ck off, you white woman whore, go suck your mum,' they replied, and proceeded to demonstrate what they did to their 'little white girlfriends'...

Emphasis mine.

So the women cannot go out in the street any more. They are locked inside their apartments. Outside are groups of feral migrants, gathering, for the sake of argument, in groups of 10.

How do you reverse this and get to the point where attacks are so rare that women will make the educated decision that going out is actually safe? How do you get the feral migrants off the street permanently? Recall that their armaments include everything up to and including grenades. Also recall that they, unlike native Swedes, come from very violent countries.

Further, Western legal systems are designed for ordered, civilized society and have neither the flow rate nor the capacity to handle large numbers of ferals.

Finally, the migrants are having children much faster than the locals and they are not assimilating.

How does this not end in retreat?

On Jordan Peterson And The Virgin Mary

A few clips have gone viral from this video of Jordan facing off against 20 atheists. Sitting in a room with 20 smarmy atheists and being recorded on video is apparently a thing. I didn't watch any of it because it makes my skin itch just to think of what it must have been like to sit in a room with a prep school debate club hopped up on Sam Harris and Christopher Hitchens.

I did hear a bit of audio from one of the clips where a particularly pushy punk kid shoved the Catholic beliefs about the Virgin Mary in Jordan's face, accused Jordan of being Catholic and demanded he explain the doctrine of Mary.

Lots of people, many of them Catholics, have objected to this or that reply by Jordan during that odious session, but I won't do so without hearing them and I almost certainly wouldn't do so after hearing them, either. What in the world would motivate me to do that? The entire setup is in bad faith.

Why ask Jordan about the Virgin Mary? If you want to understand the Catholic perspective on the subject, sit down with a theologian of some repute and have a calm discussion about it. Going into a room of 20 midget feral hogs and getting attacked isn't an indication of the feral hogs' desire to learn anything, it's simply an act of interlocutory BDSM.

The bigger issue isn't with Jordan or Catholicism, it's with the thought processes of the atheists. Objecting to a theory of reality without a superior substitute isn't argument at all, it's just banging your spoon on your high chair and screaming. As far as the theology of Mary goes, I simply don't care enough to study it. Why should I? More to the point, why should anyone reply to that atheist's snarky questions?

Catholicism is a holistic hypothesis about existence. It explains cosmology, ethics, morality, purpose, meaning, science, evolution, philosophy, the origin of life and more. Scientific atheism, on its best day, is a small subset of Catholicism. That is, there is almost nothing the atheists have, such as science, that we don't have as well. There is a ton of stuff we do have that they don't.

Atheists playing gotcha games with some obscure aspect of Catholicism is like being on the losing side of a 35-3 NFL game and mocking the winning team because they only ran for 170 yards and not 175. Ha ha ha, Catholics! Take that!

My response to, "Do you know about the Catholic beliefs on the Virgin Mary?" would be a very quick, "No because I don't care."
