Japanese beetles love Mexican burritos, that is.
After Mass on Sunday, we went to a local Rubio's and got fish burritos. A Japanese beetle decided to join us for a bite. He (or she) spent a great deal of time on my burrito and I think he was licking up the white sauce.
I left the photos quite large and my Galaxy S7 did a stellar job, so they're definitely worth a click to see the full-scale versions. Enjoy!

What a handsome beetle!
I don't think it's a Japanese, beetle, though - they have more yellowish-bronze wing covers and pronounced black-and-white striping down their abdomen. It looks more like you have a Fig-Eater Beetle, which are bigger, greener, and have that pale stripe running around their wing margins:

The adults like juicy fruits. And, clearly, burritos.
OK, I'm officially grossed out.
And I agree with Tim; that doesn't look to me like a Japanese beetle.
Thanks for the correction, Tim.
Ilion, my wife was grossed out, too. I thought it was kind of cute. He didn't eat much.
According to wikipedia, "They eat booty like groceries."
Not sure how I feel about this. I didn't see any of them eating booty, but I suppose they could. I suppose as long as it's consensual ...
"They eat booty like groceries"?
I didn't see that on this page about them. Are you using some other, racier version of Wikipedia that I'm not aware of?
As for being grossed out, well, at least it wasn't a dung beetle!
