This is why my father never wanted to have goats on our farm. They are next thing to impossible to keep contained, and they constantly escape and get into things like the neighbor's garden or climbing on top of their car and denting the roof. And goats don't seem to have much respect for dogs, either. Goatherding must be a much more difficult job than sheepherding.
My wife and I have talked about moving up to Paso Robles and keeping goats when we retire. We may need to revise that pipe dream.
(Personally, I'd rather go to the Gulf Coast anyway.)
