Quote of the Day (Bumped)

... comes from the comments of this London Times article displaying apoplexy over the hilarious decision to award President Obama the Nobel Peace Prize.
Laugh at the old Soviet 'awards' system all you like; you had to do far more than this to get a Lenin prize.
Hahahahahaha!

Reactions from around the Feline Theocracy (and elsewhere):

Our Archbishop of Texas is incredulous.

The Secular Apostate has found the (almost) proper music video.

Our Pater of Prowling gives us the Facepalm.

Our College Of Cardinals alleges payback.

Update:

Our Precentor of Measurements is shocked.

Others are calling for us to help Obama win the Heisman Trophy. Sounds good to me!

If you've got a take on it, leave it in the comments or if you've blogged it, leave the URL in the comments and I'll link back to you.

Count me with Texas.

I'm with Texas, too. My first reaction on hearing the news was, "What?" To his credit, The Dear Leader at least assumed enough humility to admit he didn't deserve it. (He got one thing right).

Do you suppose it's a consolation prize for the International Olympic Committee's decision not to give the 2016 Summer Games to Chicago?

Bob Schieffer of CBS News suggested the Nobel committee gave Obama the prize mainly because he isn't George W. Bush. Y'know, if even Obama's pals in the MSM are beginning to notice stuff like this, he's in trouble.

I should have seen it coming, after the Nobel prize for economics went to that socialist nitwit Paul Krugman last year.

KT, I have a short post opining as to how this will become a political liability for Obama.

The whole thing is somewhere between insane and comical. One thing I thought was particularly interesting was that the One decided that he'd give the $'s to charity.

Hey, Dude, how about giving it to the US Treasury and paying off a bit of that 3/4 of trillion you and your buddies in Congress just wasted?
