Doves Are Slobs

Here within the Catican Compound, we feed half the birds in Tierrasanta with our array of birdfeeders. Our favorite is a tall tube feeder with multiple perches going up the sides. It's wonderful when the finches encrust it, nomming and cheeping.

It's a mess when the doves go at it. In the video below, watch all the seeds sprayed out of the feeder as the doves lurch and stumble their way through lunch, the little swine.

The doves waste so much of the food that we have the fill the thing at least twice a day. We've tried a feeder that has a mesh screen around it, but the little birds didn't like it because, while it kept out the doves, being inside the screen made the finches feel trapped and vulnerable.

Finally Taking Care Of An Old Friend

Outside of your family, with what living thing have you had the longest relationship?

For me, it's a cast iron plant. Yes, I am that pathetic. I've had this character in my life for 43 years, having rescued it from certain death outside a friend's dorm room. It's lived in a pot the whole time. It got root-bound ages ago, but I never planted it in the ground until yesterday.

43 years and I haven't bothered to give it a name.

It was horribly root bound because while I kept it alive, I never got around to re-planting it in a bigger pot.

Finally! It's in the ground and can spread and thrive. I need to go through my filing cabinets and find the to-do list from 40 years ago and check off "Put cast iron plant in the ground."

Yes, life here at the Catican Compound is one hair-raising thrill after another.

Men Are Called To Adventure

Intro for Newbies:

I'm a Catholic who goes to Mass every week. I live in San Diego, one of the wimpiest dioceses in the Church. Sitting through each week's sermon, I've identified 3 types.

1. God is love
2. Forgive others
3. Care for the less fortunate

I lump all these together under the category of kissy-kissy love-love. There's no edge to any of them. It's all flaccid sweetness all the time. It makes me want to vomit.

We had another kissy-kissy love-love sermon in church today. It was all good though, because it was 1st Communion for a bunch of kids. The deacon did a really nice job.

Still, I sat and ruminated while he talked to the kids at the first grade level.

It's not the love, it's the lack of villains. I just turned on a Jordan Peterson podcast to hear while I spread some bark in the garden when this idea hit me and I had to knock out a quick blog post.

The kissy-kissy love-love stuff all assumes there are no villains. In all of our lives, there are real villains. The drug dealers who sold to my brothers, the LGBTQWERTY influencers who preyed on my daughter, Muslim gangs who groomed thousands of little, British girls and then gang-raped them, etc.

It's not that kissy-kissy love-love doesn't have a place, it's that it only describes a small portion of the real world. Real villains call for real men to fight them. The adventure of life for men is battling villainy and protecting our women and children. As Jordan has said many times, that's the call to men demanding manhood from them. It's why I find the kissy-kiss love-love stuff so infuriatingly saccharine. 

Huge swaths of my life have been torn to pieces by true villainy. I've fought it as best I can, failing sometimes, succeeding others. Kissy-kissy love-love never worked against true villainy. It was never even vaguely applicable.

I love stories of adventure. I love the Arthurian legends. Knights in shining armor fighting for beautiful damsels calls to me. As Andrew Klavan might say, it is the archetypal masculine story, the one we all want to live out in real life. The villains exist and so do the damsels. The call to adventure is there. I'd just like a little acknowledgement of the existence of villains by the Church.

A Sweet Ending

One of the tiny damsels in my children's liturgy group came up to me after Mass and gave me a drawing she had made just for me during Mass. I was so touched that I teared up. Little Annabelle got to the old man.

God bless the little Annabelles out there. There are real villains out there who want to do them harm. They are the ones real men would lay down their lives to protect. There's adventure in that.

Cat would approve.

PS: Yes, Annabelle looks a lot like that. She is one of the purest little angels you have ever met. She's 80% innocence and 20% impishness. The perfect combination.

Does Love Have A Time Frame?

Something dawned on me yesterday that I need to write down so I remember it. That's why I'm inflicting it on you. It's all about my needs, man. I don't care about anyone but me!

Hmm. I said the quiet part out loud again, didn't I? Oh well.

I rant all the time about the "God is love, love is love, kissy-kissy love-love" emphasis within the Catholic Church. It's a justification for cowardice, passivity and surrender to the modern culture. If you don't stand up for what you believe, no one can ever attack you. Just go with "kissy-kissy love-love" and you'll be safe and your tummy won't hurt.

A Hypothetical

If your wife or daughter is being raped right in front of you, should you "let go and let God?" Should you pray? Should you wait for the Holy Spirit to change the heart of the rapist? Should you softly talk about how God is love?

I doubt that even the squishiest of progressive Catholics would say that. They'd all say that you should physically intervene immediately.

OK, so we've now established an act and a time frame under which aggression is necessary and morally right. What if the rape is going to happen 10 minutes from now? What if, instead of a rape, it's one of those random punches to the head so popular in NYC right now?

Where do aggressive, protective responses stop and the kissy-kissy love-love begin? Under what conditions do you revert to your preferred state of passivity and surrender?

The example illustrates that morality is a hybrid of love and aggression. Love without aggression, which is what we have now, is a recipe for losing.

Minnows And Predators

I was at an aquarium a long time ago and they had a tank with a school of neon tetras and a single, larger fish. The neons maintained a minimum distance from the big guy. It was like the larger fish had a force field around it which repelled the neons. In reality, the tiny brains of the neons were executing a simple program.

That's the program we're running. So long as your wife isn't being raped, we can execute our default behavior which is doing nothing. "Let go and let God" is pretty similar to "Do nothing."

My life is spotted with tragedies which arose from moral collapse. Both of my brothers died as drug addicts. I have a special, err, love for people who advocate for legalized drugs, for the entertainers who glorified it and the people who sell drugs. My daughter's trans disaster has been well-documented here.

Those are concrete examples of lives being destroyed over a period of time a wee bit longer than my rape example above. Still, the results were just as devastating. Like the neon tetras who did nothing so long as the big fish wasn't a threat, we did nothing until my brothers were addicted and my daughter was injecting testosterone into her thigh. By then it was too late.

This is my problem with the kissy-kissy love-love thing. It can't cope with people who are committed to doing evil. It absolves you of any responsibility to actively, aggressively fight evil. If you let go and let God and the evil still happens, it's God's fault. You can go limp, let evil crush those around you all while feeling morally justified.

Transgender individuals face elevated depression rates, leading to an increase in suicide ideation and attempts. This study evaluates the risk of suicide or self-harm associated with gender affirmation procedures...

Individuals who underwent gender-affirming surgery had a 12.12-fold higher suicide attempt risk than those who did not (3.47% vs. 0.29%, RR 95% CI 9.20-15.96, p < 0.0001). Compared to the tubal ligation/vasectomy controls, the risk was 5.03-fold higher before propensity matching and remained significant at 4.71-fold after matching (3.50% vs. 0.74%, RR 95% CI 2.46-9.024, p < 0.0001) for the gender affirmation patients with similar results with the pharyngitis controls.

Conclusion

Gender-affirming surgery is significantly associated with elevated suicide attempt risks, underlining the necessity for comprehensive post-procedure psychiatric support.

What We Get Wrong

In addition to not understanding that we're at war and losing badly in a 3-way fight with the Secular Left and the Muslims, we presume that everyone around us is restrained by Christian morality. They aren't. I found this paper via Libs of TikTok who had this pithy summary. "Everything about gender ideology is a lie."

Even she isn't drawing the right conclusion. It's not just the gender perverts that are lying, it's everyone.

On this blog, I've pulled threads on education and race and come face-to-face with the fact that blacks are coming out of high schools illiterate in cities where systemic racism is an impossibility because the place is run top to bottom by blacks. Global Warming Climate Change may or may not be happening, but if it's CO2 driving it, you aren't going to stop it because China, India, Russia, Africa, Indonesia and plenty of other places simply aren't going to go green. Lie after lie after lie.

I recently listened to a podcast by a therapist who focuses on trans issues. Interviewing the woman who broke the WPATH Files, where the World Professional Association for Transgender Health was shown to have been saying that informed consent was impossible to each other, but telling everyone else that informed consent was what everyone achieved. It was all a lie because the kids simply couldn't comprehend what the risks were.

Then I found out that there is massive overlap between WPATH and the Endocrine Society leadership members. That's why we get headlines like this.

The Endocrine Society condemns the directive by Texas Governor Greg Abbott ordering the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) to investigate any reported instances of Texas children receiving gender-affirming care as “child abuse.” This policy rejects evidence-based transgender medical care and will restrict access to care for teenagers experiencing gender incongruence or dysphoria.

For the longest time, I couldn't understand how the Endocrine Society got hornswoggled by the charlatans at WPATH. Now it's completely obvious. They're the same pack of charlatans. Everyone is lying. Everyone.

Why Are They Lying?

... is the wrong question. The right question is why did you think they wouldn't lie? The answer is that you assumed that everyone implicitly clings to Christian morality. Lying is wrong. Care for the less fortunate. Don't steal. And on and on.

That is not their moral basis. For all intents and purposes they don't have one. The closest thing would be paganism. All bets are off.

Go back and watch the NPR chick. Why shouldn't she lie? Lying gets her what she wants and that's all that matters. Objective morality is a myth for the superstitious Bible-clingers.

This is what happens when you're losing the war. We control less and less territory and the Secular Left controls more and more. You can no longer count on any portion of your culture being maintained as it had been in the past.

Here's what I've got.

End product: radicalized students who are protesting in favor of a genocidal, antisemitic group who recently committed atrocities on a massive scale.

Somehow, the students got to the point where paragliding into a music festival to gang rape women and murder men is acceptable* because the victims were Jews. What led to this?

We don't have any data suggesting that the American adult population has a large number of Nazis in it. Our entertainment industry isn't issuing revivals of the 1930s German classics like Die Rothschilds. Whatever the current Teletubbies clone is, meant to stupify toddlers, the sweet, little characters aren't goosestepping around the screen giving stiff-armed salutes. Our little league teams aren't named after Luftwaffe aces and, in our soccer leagues, the girls aren't wearing Hamas armbands.

Hmm. It had to come from somewhere else. Who else has both the access and authority required to indoctrinate our kids into a culture of deranged racial hatred? Watch that video again, carefully. There might be a clue in it.

Arresting The Kids Is Like Eating Cotton Candy

Across the right, movers and shakers are sharing videos of cops thumping protestors, handcuffing protestors, putting protestors into perp conga lines and other delightfully satisfying cinematic moments where the spoiled, lefty kids finally get a spanking. Yay! Spank them harder, boys in blue! Ha ha ha!

Arresting the kids is the cultural hygiene equivalent of eating cotton candy. Or maybe it's the equivalent of killing individual ants. Maybe it's killing individual ants who are feasting on cotton candy. Whatever it is, it's practically empty of value and almost pointless.

It's not the kids we should be arresting, it's the teachers. Until we do that, bug-eyed, racist college students are the ultimate renewable resource.

Get rid of these and there will be another pack of them infesting our colleges next year.

ChatGPT Is No Fan Of Fan Boats

AI Storyboard Comedy

 ... isn't going to be as easy as I'd hoped.

I was doing something or other at the computer when the theme song to the Bond movie "The Man with the Golden Gun" popped into my head. Naturally, I changed the lyrics to "The Man with the Golden Cat" and part of my brain asked to be excused, went downstairs into my subconscious and came back a few minutes later with this idea.

What about doing a Bond takeoff comedy where the stories are told in the form of storyboard art created by ChatGPT? Each episode or chapter would be a couple of images with a paragraph or two of summary. The comedy would come from the lead character being BobbyLee Bond, James Bond's American cousin from Dixie. He'd be in all the same kinds of settings, but he'd have the fish-out-of-water humor by wearing overalls, a camo baseball cat and being accompanied by his basset hound, General Beauregard.

He thinks he's all suave and sophisticated, but everyone around him is constantly exasperated by him and his stubborn, lazy hound.

The villain would be the Man with the Golden Cat. Just what he does with the cat or how he gets it or who it belongs to is anyone's guess right now.

In addition to the General, BobbyLee would be assisted by his cat, Cat. Cat would be a standard gray-silver tabby with a lousy attitude and disdain for everyone and everything. He'd insert himself whenever he was annoyed and the results would shake up the story line.

Here, Cat has snuck into the villain's HQ and is pressing a red button on his desk just because he doesn't like anyone in the place and is hoping the red button will make something bad happen to them. Frankly, Cat doesn't care what happens to anyone.

The problem with the concept was the same old one, which I had forgotten. I can't get the same BobbyLee from one image to the next. Here, Bond and the Bond girl, Maxine Gams, are in a speedboat with General Beauregard. It's a scene where Maxine is supposed to look sultry and alluring, but she's overcome with an allergy attack because she's allergic to basset hounds.

As you can see, that's a totally different BobbyLee.

You might be able to make the case that this BobbyLee is the same as the first one, but that was just random chance hitting somewhere near the target.

Over at Playground, a different AI art creator, you can actually use celebrities and historical figures as your templates and the results are decent. I asked for Robert E. Lee as a superspy and got this.

That was excellent, but interacting with Playground is like dying, only without the good parts. Each image is prompted by descriptive terms. When I tried to get Lee into overalls, the result was horrendous. It was the same guy, but the feel was all wrong. Playground is making individual images with no reference to the story. In ChatGPT, you can tell a story interactively with the AI and then at regular intervals, ask for it to create an illustration of what just happened. Playground would be a never ending root canal as I tried one set of descriptive terms after another, hoping to get an image close to what I had in mind.

So ChatGPT is a dream partner for creating fiction, but its refusal to use real people as templates makes it improbable that I could pull off something like this.

Having said that, it's still a ton of fun.

At least Cat thinks so.

It looks like the villain's Rolls Royce is going to need some body work. Cat couldn't care less.

Super Special Bonus AI Conversation

To give you an idea of how much fun it can be to create fiction with ChatGPT these days, here's a conversation between us.

Me: Come up with an idea of your own where Cat wrecks things in the villain's HQ out of boredom, doing normal cat things.

ChatGPT: How about an image of Cat, the indifferent gray tabby, accidentally unleashing a swarm of robot spiders in the villain's headquarters out of sheer boredom? Picture this: Cat is in a dimly lit, high-tech lab filled with various experimental gadgets. In his quest for a cozy spot, he chooses to nap on what looks like an ordinary shelf. If you missed it, an Australian Orthodox priest was attacked and stabbed by a Muslim guy while giving a sermon. The video went viral on Twitter.

The Aussie chick in charge of suppressing news that conflicts with the progressives' oppressor-oppressed narrative called for Twitter to take down the video. Twitter suppressed it, but only for users Down Under. This wasn't good enough and the Keepers of the Truth in Oz called for Elon Musk to be fined, jailed and probably run out of town on a rail.

It illustrated just how stupid they are. In the last 24 hours, a video of the same priest back in the pulpit surfaced on Twitter. You might have a case for suppressing the stabbing video, but in order to maintain the "Muslims are oppressed" fantasy, you'd have to suppress videos of people talking about the video. Then you'd have to suppress videos about the videos about the video.

Here's a story about congressman Jamaal Bowman being taken in by a Twitter troll account claiming to be the Chief Rabbi of Gaza. The only problem is that Hamas has made it illegal and fatal to be a Jew in Gaza. Our super smart diversity and inclusion guy is so committed to the Palestinians that he has no idea what the Palestinians believe. He's an idiot.

Rep. Jamaal Bowman and his campaign were duped by the parody social-media account of the fake “Chief Rabbi of Gaza.”

The phony X account of “Rabbi Linda Goldstein” is infamous for spouting anti-Zionist vitriol to ensnare unsuspecting progressives unaware that it is satirical.

The rabbi messaged Bowman about sponsoring a fundraiser for his Democratic primary campaign.

Under Hamas rule Jews were not allowed in Gaza, and the only ones there now are hostages and IDF soldiers attempting to rescue them — something Bowman evidently didn’t pick up on when he began corresponding with the account.

Bowman, a member of the far-left House “Squad,” has become one of the most vocal critics of Israel and defenders of Hamas in Congress.

At UCLA, they're hunting for spies and saboteurs. That would be students who record lectures by morons and share them on social media.

The dean of the medical school, Steven Dubinett, announced Friday that his office had formed a task force to review all first-year courses, including "Structural Racism and Health Equity," after the Washington Free Beacon published materials from the mandatory class. But the school isn’t happy about having its hand forced.

In an email to students and faculty, Dubinett implied that the leaks were an "attempt to intimidate" the medical school and hinted that future leakers could face discipline—especially if they record lectures. 

"Recording class sessions is not permitted without express consent from the instructor and class participants," Dubinett wrote. That warning appears to be a reference to an earlier incident in which a guest lecturer, Lisa Gray Garcia, led the required course in chants of "Free, Free Palestine" as well as a prayer to "Mamma Earth," part of which was caught on tape and thrust the course into the national spotlight.  

And the beat goes on.

All of this is an attempt to suppress embarrassing realities. After you start seeing it that way, the Super Smart Educated Elites become pitiful, not enraging.

Whiteness Studies Are The Gateway Drug To Antisemitism

It's no surprise that Columbia, the epicenter of the Jew-hatred on our college campuses was encrusted with anti-white racism first.

I'll take this opportunity to repeat an earlier observation. It's a mistake to focus on just who is being hated. In a decade or two, if we keep grouping each other by immutable characteristics, we will focus our hate on a completely different group.

It's not the whiteness studies, it's assignment of moral value rankings to groups that is evil.

In case you didn't know, the Columbia administration knows this guy well and many of the Columbia faculty are now out there supporting the students as they protest for Jewish genocide.

This month I heard reports of tsuris and schpilkas all over L.A. as rich private school kids got denied from their parent’s Ivy League alma maters, thanks to the DEI regime they welcomed with open arms in 2020. Elite Jews are finally feeling the sting of “anti-white racism.”

This betrayal is, at least for many of the Jews I know, the hardest to bear—the reversal of privilege inside networks that Jews themselves made.

John Podhoretz attempted to claw back his special favorite nation status when he tweeted: “Jews aren’t white” because understood that the racism and bigotry that non-Jewish whites face in 2024 America is much worse, and much more destructive, than even the Hamas mobs camped out on Columbia’s campus.

It’s one thing to get yelled at on the street; it’s another thing to have your children taught to hate themselves for the color of their skin, to be forced to apologize to brown classmates in Kindergarten, and be denied college admission, jobs, and promotions that can no longer allow white men to advance up the ladder. 

Even a guy like Podhoretz understood that if even white men can lose the privileges they earned building, defending, and dying for their country, Jews are next.

She's a wonderful writer, but she's still missing the point. She's adopting the progressives' structuring of the world. There are races and genders and that's what matters. She's a white with Jewish ancestors. John Podhoretz is a Jew. And so forth.

That's just rearranging the deck chairs for the next Titanic. If you manage to fight off the bug-eyed racists this time, you've done little but set the stage for the next set. She's playing Mad Libs with Mein Kampf. Here's a quote from that storehouse of evil ready for us all to fill in the blanks.

At Columbia University, the antisemites are having a party. They are marching and singing and chanting and waving flags. It's all good, wholesome, progressive fun. In fact, it's so much fun that a rabbi at Columbia has suggested that all Jewish students, for their own safety, should leave and never come back. Given that plenty of the faculty are joining in the stiff-right-armed fun, that's sound advice.

They're all right, but they're not seeing the bigger picture. This isn't about Jews or whites. That's obvious if you follow some of the Asian crime twitter feeds. Those show Asians getting sucker punched, stabbed and robbed, almost always by blacks.

It's not about whites, Jews or Asians, it's about success. The progs know, they just know that successful groups are evil. They also know in their heart of hearts that the Palestinians, being chronic underperformers, are good. You can't project significant American military power unless you can get men and materials across the water. My response was that video or one of the thousand recent ones just like it. I went with the crowd when I first saw that video and howled about the racism. When I began to think about it, I was staggered.

All along, I've had the wrong "them" and the wrong "us."

Loyola is an expensive, famous, Catholic, Jesuit university. Watching that woman do the whole waggly-head, stereotypical, antisemitic rant, I realized something.

Grace Obi-Azuike wasn't selected for the Loyola Law School Anti-Racism Fellowship in spite of her being a bug-eyed racist, she was chosen because she was a bug-eyed racist.

Watch that video and tell me that Grace doesn't have a string of social media posts and writings that aren't loaded to the gunwales with racial hatred. It's not like she walked into this meeting and suddenly began spouting racial venom. Whatever the criteria are, whatever the content the panel examined to hand out the Loyola Law School Anti-Racism Fellowship, you can be sure they knew this was who she was.

On this blog and in person, I like to tell my friends, "They hate you." I used to think that referred to how the secular left hated Catholics. I was wrong. In this case, I was slapped in the face with the reality that the Jesuits hate me. By extension, my bishop who runs the University of San Diego and all of its rancid anti-white racism hates me. It's not like they don't know about the whiteness studies and this woman's deranged Jew-hatred.

Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe the Jesuit priests are horrified by this. Maybe my bishop would be aghast to find out that his university sounds like a modern Rudolf Hess. I'd be a fool to think so. This poison just keeps appearing in more and more places.

The question is how to confront them with this. It's not like those of us in the laity have much of a chance to throw a question to either the Jesuits or the bishop. I've got a good friend who did this kind of thing with Gonzaga. Maybe I should find out how that worked.

Social Justice Is A Sin. Racial Justice Is A Sin.

 Matthew 18:1-7:

After my foam-at-the-mouth rant yesterday, I pondered the situation further.

Until I read that sentence, I loved Barbara. After I read it, she became a representative for all women and responsible for every ounce of pain women have inflicted on me. That's a lot of pain and the dark side of me would like nothing more than to get down to the viscerally gratifying business of ruthless vengeance.

When you yap in public about oppressors and oppressed, you don't really know your audience. You don't know their histories well enough, you can't know them well enough, to be sure that you've got the oppressor-oppressed classifications right for their experiences.

"Women have it so hard" sets me off. To a lesser extent, but for similar reasons, "blacks have it so hard" does as well. When we group people and then assign moral values to the groups, we turn each individual into an avatar for that group. Barbara is a woman. I love Barbara until you turn her into an avatar for all women by telling me that women have been historically oppressed by men. I don't hate Barbara, I love her. When you blather on about social justice or racial justice, I naturally associate Barbara with all women and reflexively hate her as the symbol of whiny privilege and backstabbing, life-ruining duplicity.

I didn't hate until you catalyzed my hate.

We do that every time we group people into bins and especially when we give those bins relative moral standings.

Social Justice is a sin. Racial Justice is a sin.

"(W)oe to the one through whom they come" indeed.

It always takes me a while to calm down when this happens, but eventually I do and love Barbara and all other women again.

Pope Francis Wants To Start A War

I've been thinking more about our parish council's latest task from the Vatican - to discuss how we can give women more power in the Church. It irritates the living daylights out of me. Why?

It's because it turns my personal relationships into that horrible card game, War. If you aren't familiar with War, it's a 2-player game where each player gets half the deck and then they turn over cards one at a time. The person that turns over the higher card wins that trick and takes both cards, putting them at the bottom of his deck. The person who ends up with the whole deck wins. It's as unbearably tedious and deterministic as it sounds.

At any rate, that's what happens when we categorize people into oppressor-oppressed groups. Taking the example our midwit pope has dumped on our tiny parish council, looking for opportunities for women immediately puts me on Team Man in a game of War. The Vatican has decided that we all need to act like women have it hard in the Church which can only mean that I, a man, have oppressed them.

Oh really? Is that where you want to go? By all means, let's go there. I've got a deck filled with high cards that I've been gathering over the decades for just this occasion. Unless the women on the parish council have been raped, I'll mop the floor with them. Unfaithful and violent ex-wives, backstabbing female bosses, conniving coworkers, shrewish family members, it's all face cards and aces in my deck. 

You want a war of the sexes? Let's do it.

In real life, far away from the demented, Marxist hellscape where we all fit into infantile oppressor-oppressed bins, I have personal relationships with each of the women on the parish council. Let's take one as an example. We'll call her Barbara. 

Barbara and I haven't interacted much, but that's because she has devoted her life to the parish and I'm a dilettante at best. Every single time I've been with her, she has been pleasant, competent, diligent, helpful and kind. If you asked me to describe her, I would not use a single negative adjective.

Now the pope wants me to play War with her. She's on Team Woman and I'm on Team Man. Ill Papa has set the stage for unresolvable conflict within the parish by painting me as the oppressor and her as the oppressed. Up yours, pal. After what I've suffered at the hands of women, I will never surrender in that fight. If you think I'm going to be an "ally" and come crawling on my belly begging for forgiveness from women, then you don't know me. John Mosby is my spirit animal.

If you want a war, the boys and I would be happy to oblige you.

Chicago NPR Democrat wife kitteh will no doubt gladly take up the banner of Team Woman and it will be on like the break of dawn at home. In no time at all, our sacramental vows will be ashes wafting through the air above the radioactive wasteland of our marital thermonuclear ruins.

Pope Francis can take his demonic mask of smarmy sanctimony which conceals his Marxist hate and stuff it. I'm not going to war for him.

Women Need More Opportunities To Decline

I'm the head of our parish council. At a recent meeting, one of the topics came from the Vatican and Pope Francis' push to give more power to women within the Church.

First, I have no idea what he's saying. Every parish I've ever seen is run by women. The husbands are working and the wives are volunteering. Every single parish has been like this. Just what opportunities women are missing are beyond me.

Further, I'd bet that about half our priests, bishops and cardinals are gay. From the parish on up, it's hard to see where the Clint Eastwood types are hiding. Still, they must be there, keeping women oppressed, because this is a big deal for the pope.

Maybe I've got a skewed view of the situation for some reason. I don't really care whether I do or not. I don't plan on sticking around in this gig if it's going to end up like my career where I worked at a place whose internal corporate newspaper took swipes at me in every issue. Every single time, there was a story about this woman, that minority, the gay guy across the hall or the transgender, one-legged Eskimo driving the courier van and how much each of them had to overcome. Always implied was that I was the thing they had to overcome, the straight, white male oppressor.

That was irritating, but tolerable because they paid me money. The Church doesn't pay me a dime. I don't see any reason to volunteer to experience that particular déjà vu.

Finally, I took the job when it was announced that our existing chair had to step down. In a room full of candidates, the priest asked for volunteers. It was only after the silence got awkward that I said I'd do it. All the women present had an opportunity to seize power and none of them did.

That's the real lesson here. If you don't take advantage of the leadership opportunities you're given, it might be a good idea to stop yapping about women not having enough of them.

Her: "They offered me the COO position, but I don't see why I have to play second to a man."

Him: (God, I wish she'd shut up and go away.)

Cat: (There aren't enough treats in the world to make this worthwhile. I see a hairball in her shoes in the very near future.)

The Future Belongs To Those That Show Up

 ... which means I ended that title with a preposition, hence this suffix.

Picking the bottom feeder, Decatur, I went to Great Schools and checked in on their stats. They have two major high schools, Eisenhower and MacArthur, both of which are cellar-dwellers, scoring the lowest possible points, 1 out of 10. Checking in on their equity stats, we see that standardized test score data is not available, but we do have "College Readiness" and "Discipline and Attendance."

College-ready: blacks 7/10, whites 8/10. Not bad!

Chronically absent: blacks 50%, whites 36%. Hmm. I'm guessing those college readiness scores are juiced. These kids aren't even bothering to show up for class. Do you think that might have something to do with the fact that almost none of them can read at grade level? Maybe.

MacArthur

College-ready: blacks 6/10, whites 8/10. Again, not bad!

Chronically absent: blacks 45%, whites 36%. Again, a whole bunch of them aren't bothering to go to school. They must be prodigies to get those college readiness rankings.

Or maybe it's all smoke and mirrors.

This is in line with other random sampling I've done on Great Schools. People can prattle all they want about racial justice, structural racism, school funding and discipline, but if the kids aren't showing up to school, you're just pushing on a rope.

Harvard Returns To Racism

Well, this didn't take long.

Since we all know that standardized tests are racist, this means that Harvard is once more a pawn on the white supremacist patriarchy. Like that's a surprise.

In all seriousness, I would pay good money to hear recordings of the deliberations and read the email traffic that led up to this decision. It must have been en fuego.

Timing Can Spell The Difference Between Life And Death

 ... and in the case of my daughter, her timing was poor and the result is a living death.

In September 2020, the consultant paediatrician Dr Hilary Cass was asked to conduct a review into how the NHS should care for children and adolescents who are either questioning their gender identity or experiencing gender incongruence (a mismatch between body and sex at birth). In part, the review was a response to a huge increase in the number of referrals to the Gender Identity Development Service (Gids) run by the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust. There was certainly cause for alarm. In 2011-12, there were just under 250 referrals to the service; in 2021-22 this had risen to more than 5,000...

In February 2022, Dr Cass published an interim report whose recommendations had a seismic impact. It led to the closure of Gids, which was criticised for the lack of data collection on what happened to children and young people who were prescribed hormones. Her findings also led to NHS England deciding last month to stop prescribing puberty blockers to children because there was “not enough evidence to support the safety or clinical effectiveness of puberty-suppressing hormones, or to make the treatment available at this time”...

In conclusion, Hilary Cass is saying quite firmly that as a society we cannot and will not do as the trans ideologues demand. Children and adolescents will not be given life-altering drugs and surgery without proof that it will leave them happier and healthier than before. If a young woman is depressed and anxious, we don’t believe that, in the majority of cases, a double mastectomy is the route to recovery. In its quiet, scientific way, this is a vital and revolutionary document.

In any case, the Cass Report says what we all knew to be true - the transgender madness was simply the poisoning and butchery of young people, mostly white girls. When questioned in the privacy of his office, my own doctor said the whole thing was a fraud and a horror. Our family therapist had similarly told us that she was ashamed of her profession and how they were allowing young people's lives to be smashed.

If you think that's bad, dig the WPATH Files. WPATH, the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, was the fig leaf for the degenerate psychotics on the left who have led the charge in multiple professional organizations to mutilate and poison young people. The WPATH Files were leaked to Michael Schellenberger who discovered it was all a fraud.

WPATH is considered the leading global scientific and medical authority on “gender medicine,” and in recent decades, its Standards of Care have shaped the guidance, policies and practices of governments, medical associations, public health systems and private clinics across the world.

However, the WPATH Files reveal that the organization does not meet the standards of evidence-based medicine, and members frequently discuss improvising treatments as they go along. Members are fully aware that children and adolescents cannot comprehend the lifelong consequences of “gender-affirming care,” and in some cases, due to poor health literacy, neither can their parents. 

“The WPATH Files show that what is called ‘gender medicine’ is neither science nor medicine,” said Michael Shellenberger, President and founder of Environmental Progress. “The experiments are not randomized, double-blind, or controlled. It’s not medicine since the first rule is to do no harm. And that requires informed consent.”

All of this comes too late to save my little girl. She's been on testosterone for 3 years or so. Her body is ruined. She's sterile, her vagina is shriveled, her vocal cords wrecked and her central nervous system poisoned. She took the advice of the transgender cultists and cut me out of her life. I see her once or twice a year. The last time we met, she told me she wanted a double mastectomy and I temporarily talked her out of it. I'm not sure if she's been mutilated by now.

Europe is coming out of the cult as nation after nation bans "gender-affirming care," but here in the US, the progressives are still pushing it.

I feel surprisingly calm about all of this, but I'm sure that's just a thin veneer over some pretty potent emotions.

On the plus side, we're on the downslope of child mutilations. That's a good thing even if it all came too late for my family.

Will There Be Justice?

My bet is that there will be no justice for the mutilated and poisoned. There may be some lawsuits, but the politicians, entertainment figures, news media and corporations who fed our children into the transgender wood chipper will frolic on to something else and adopt a position of virtuous sanctimony about a new topic.

There never is a reckoning for these kinds of things.
