Scorched Earth

OK, let me get this straight. If the worst possible option is true, Brett Kavanaugh tried to make out with some chick in high school 30 years ago. She never told anyone until now, he has no track record of such things and women who went to high school with him vouch for him being a gentleman.

Right.

So now progs are simply taking a flamethrower to the conservative Supreme Court nominees because they're terrified that the normals will be allowed to vote on things like abortion and gay marriage instead of having 5 weirdos in black robes dictate the culture to them.

I swear, if his nomination gets scuttled because of this, I'm taking down our American flag and not putting it back up, ever. I thought Hillary getting away with her email crimes was bad, but this is totally insane.

Sadly, I'm not going to fly my Vatican flag as a replacement since Pope Francis has screwed us all, too.

Wife kitteh won't let me fly a Rebel Flag, so it's going to have to be a Jolly Roger.

  1. AND the story keeps changing, AND the original has had me going "wait, wasn't that an episode on one of those gazillion interchangeable crime-and-investigation shows like Law and Order shows?"

The sinister part is the one where she can't remember what YEAR it happened....

  2. From what I've read of it, it seems to be a delaying tactic, note Feinstein is not answering calls, if they can screw things up enough that no vote is taken in the next six weeks it will be too late to get a candidate confirmed before the mid terms. It's similar to the gamble they took of the Yuge Pant Suited Wonder winning the election resulting in all their shenanigans being swept under a similarly Yuge carpet.
Remember Trump when he won offered the Demons a truce? They were too much in mid tantrum to accept, instead doubling down on their attack on him and the Presidency, they should have taken the offer, they should have read up on the character of the people of the Isle of Lewis where Trump's mother is from and not pissed him off. If Joe DiGenova is right there is much fun and games in the pipline. Just today Trump ordered all the texts of Strzoc, Page, McCabe er al to be released to the public.
I have to search Amazon for a new supply of Schadenfreude, I'm almost out of it.

  3. "At the request of a number of committees of Congress, and for reasons of transparency, the President has directed the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the Department of Justice (including the FBI) to provide for the immediate declassification of the following materials: (1) pages 10-12 and 17-34 of the June 2017 application to the FISA court in the matter of Carter W. Page; (2) all FBI reports of interviews with Bruce G. Ohr prepared in connection with the Russia investigation; and (3) all FBI reports of interviews prepared in connection with all Carter Page FISA applications.

In addition, President Donald J. Trump has directed the Department of Justice (including the FBI) to publicly release all text messages relating to the Russia investigation, without redaction, of James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, and Bruce Ohr.

So when do we get to see them? The Washington Examiner reports:

The process to declassify will likely not be immediate, as the documents still have to be examined by the Justice Department, FBI and Office of the Director of National Intelligence."

    This seems about right.

"Sorry, but with all due respect to everyone trying to be respectful and even-handed, the Senate should not devote a single second, a tenth of a second, a microsecond, to the supposed charges against Brett Kavanaugh.

Line it up. Senator Feinstein has for over a month sat on an unsubstantiated 30-year-old allegation of teenage misconduct brought by a progressive activist against a respected jurist, and then brought it forward at the last minute in an attempt to stall the process and if not thwart the nomination, to smear the integrity of the nominee so that he is forever tainted.

Considering the circumstances, the burden of proof should be entirely on the accuser and her supporters. When the return on a successful lie is so high, the presumption should be that the accuser is lying. Until there is overwhelming proof not only of the instant allegation but a pattern of behavior, the Senate should adamantly refuse any consideration whatsoever."

    Both found at Ricochet.
