I probably should know the name of these flowers before I post photos of them. Oh well. Mea culpa. At least it's worth a click.
Update: Helpful and always welcome commenter Meemsync has identified this. It's a Kangaroo's Paw. As soon as I read it in the comments, I remembered picking it out and buying it. Thanks, Meemsync!
Personally, I think it is better to put up pictures with no name, than to give them completely wrong names.
ReplyDeleteI used to work at a florist when I was in college, many many many years ago. This looks like the flower "kangaroo paws". It comes in usually orange, yellow, and brown.

Tim, thanks for the link. I liked the point that photographers getting $0.30 per photo weren't likely to take the time to identify all the bugs correctly.
