2023 - The Year The Limits Are Reached

Dig this thread.

Now check this out from SciAm.

I've ranted any number of times on this blog that our modern insanity is self-limiting. In the tweet at the top, you have reality. Men are stronger and more aggressive then women. Since the Middle Ages, in the Christian world at least, we had the concept of chivalry. Gentlemen protected ladies. Women behaved like ladies to encourage that. Throwing that out does no significant damage to men, especially now that we have porn. Meanwhile, women get whacked.

One of the reasons I've turned from current events to deriving the Catechism of the Catholic Church from first principles on this blog is that the current events have become boring to me. For instance, in Buffalo during the recent blizzard, blacks looted local stores. Not many blacks, mind you, but enough to discourage the chains that owned those stores from sticking around. The news media talked in circles about it. Whatever.

Here in California, rainfalls are just about average for this time of year. Global Warming Climate Change isn't being discussed right now because ... well, you can figure that one out for yourself in your sleep.

The trans thing continues apace and our southern border has dissolved.

I would argue that pressure is building up, pressure born of suppressing reality. How long can you have women getting punched out, stores abandoning the inner cities and children regretting poison and mutilations before people start to take notice? The pressure is going to have to find an outlet.

If I were Nostradamus, I'd guess that soon, center-left journalists, ones who aren't totally insane, will start noticing and writing about it. Either that, or social media, which is already a conduit for veins of truth, will effectively replace the journalists. Maybe it already has. I'm an older kitteh, so I'm not a good judge of that.

In any case, the Truth wins. Reality wins. Always.

In this story from Malory's Le Morte d'Artur, the lady has just finished twerking on top of a cop car when she is assaulted by a wicked knight. Fortunately, Sir Lancelot was passing by, having just left a strip club, and was there to protect her.

Bonus Tweet

Maybe saturating our children in Nazi-style racial education is a big mistake. It could lead to resentment and acts of perceived revenge. We might want to look into Genesis 1:27 instead.

Whatever. Yawn.

  1. I've come to think that if this nation is to be saved it will be by center-left democrats. They have to say enough is enough and cast off the Marxists and ultra left that is destroying the country. The Republicans have shown they aren't capable.

  2. I already dumped my Scientific American subscription. I just got my Jan/Feb issue of Discover. There is an article on Page 54 titled ‘U.S. Ruling Upends Reproductive Health Care’. In the article they use the phrase “women and pregnant people” - as if that isn’t redundant. Then on page 58 they have an article titled ’Gender-Affirming Care Tied to Improved Mental Health’. I won’t even bother to quote some of the political statements passed off as science. Anyways, Discover will not get renewed in this household.

More and more of my center-left (and even not so center-ish ones) are questioning how the far left has morphed into the very very crazy far left. I think the pendulum is at its point of maximum travel (or at least very nearly so).

  3. And it would probably be swinging back if the Republicans had put up viable candidates. At least in Minnesota, where the Republicans lost the house.

Unqualified Mayor of St Paul, Melvin Carter, is so bold as to propose to triple the cities sales tax from .5 to 1.5%. The sales tax is 7.8% currently. 6.8% is the state, .5% to the county, and .5% to the city. This is on top 15% property tax increase going in.

Then there is $250 million food fraud scandal on Govenor Walz watch. He won re-election easily.

Complete incompetence, and Minnesota hasn't had a state wide elected official that is Republican in more than 10 years.

I'm starting to think I should have moved to Wisconsin not outstate Minnesota last year. But then there are enough irrational Packer fans in Minnesota, I couldn't take more.

With that said, everything is going Packers way, time to go for a walk.

  4. If it helps, the Saints won and all that did was get us a worse draft choice. Sigh.

  5. Same for my Browns. I really want to have them lose so long as Watson is the QB, but I’ve bled brown and orange for too long…

  6. Ohioan, it's tragic. A source of joy has been poisoned. For what?

  7. We commented at the same time. As far as football goes, I'm a Saints fan and there's nothing I can do about it.
