250, 1,000 Or 5,000, What's The Big Deal?

Who cares how many Americans were abandoned in Afghanistan? Seriously, what's the big deal?

We just spent over a year fighting for racial justice by chasing the cops out of black neighborhoods and the result there was well over 5,000 extra black lives lost to murder. That didn't seem to bother anyone enough to paint slogans on city streets in 2000 font.

Isn't this what we wanted when we ditched objective morality? Didn't we want to skip the whole passing judgment thing?

That's the only thing I can think of as I watch administration officials blow off the people that got left behind. As for the "official" figure of 250, I don't believe that at all. As far as I can tell, we had no idea how many were there to begin with, so we can't have much of an idea how many are still remaining. Then again, that's just an objective truth and who cares about those?

Whatever. People get left behind all the time.

This is a lie (probably not yours). Extra lives, including extra black lives, were lost in neighborhoods where policing went up just as much as where it went down.
