Orange Flower Good

So I guess we're rioting today in DC. Only this time, it's MAGA idiots running amok, not the left. Yay.

Just to repeat myself, this is exactly what you'd expect if you held an election where you could anticipate razor-thin margins of victory, using a system that a large portion of the populace told you in advance they didn't trust.

This is pure genius.

Of course, the news media, being nothing more than DNC stenographers, seem to be reporting it as a riot of Trump supporters, which it is, save for the broader context. No mention of the fact that DC was boarded up the day before the election, anticipating lefty riots if Trump had won. As usual, they're telling the truth on the small scale, but the overall narrative is a lie.

We used mail-in ballots. Sigh.

I suppose I should castigate Trump for his reckless talk, but why single him out when the left has been trying to get a race war going for almost a year now? It's all insanity by people, Republican and Democrat, who have no idea how anything works. In their offices and faculty lounges and think tanks, ranting about politics and talking violence has no real impact. Out in the real world, where there are more guns than people, it does.

Oh, by the way, after enduring a couple of lootings, Macy's is abandoning it's 170,000 square foot store on Chicago's Magnificent Mile. Thanks, Black Lives Matter. That worked out well. Not to worry, I'm sure someone will snatch up that massive structure in no time at all and the Magnificent Mile will be Magnificent again!

Or maybe not.

Here are some orange flowers from our garden. They have no idea that all the chaos is happening. Instead, they're doing their flowery best to make us happy. Thanks, flowers!

You could have also mentioned how the left-wing protests were surrounded by a massive presence by the police and National Guard, while the presence for those nice MAGA people was barely more than token.

Interesting contrast. Who's "the left"? Not Biden, Pelosi, nor Clinton. They have all condemned violence and opposed calls to defund the police. You mean the four (now 6) Congressional Representatives with little institutional power that the right-wing media loves to focus on?

Macy's has been in trouble and seeing closings for more than a decade (my wife worked there). At most, the BLM protests sped up what was inevitable.

  2. While the mail-in ballots was the "wedge" that Trump decided to use to kick up a fuss, this is definitely a "takes two to tango" situation. He did nothing, and I mean *nothing*, to calm it down or fix it in advance. In spite of the fact that we all know that if he had won, he would be bragging about what a perfect election it was, just like he did in 2016. He wanted a riot, and he stopped at nothing to get one.

As I've said before, I will grant that mail-in ballots have the potential for "retail" fraud (a few dozen votes at a time) but not the kind of "wholesale" fraud that you need to swing a national presidential election. Generating tens or hundreds of thousands of faked ballots takes people willing to risk going to jail, it takes coordination, it takes money to pay the participants and to bribe officials to look the other way, and takes enough fanaticism for everyone involved to keep their mouths absolutely shut about it. It has been two months, with numerous people desperately looking for evidence of fraud, and in that time a conspiracy that size would have had *somebody* crack, implicate their co-conspirators, and trigger a proper scandal. Instead, what do we have? A bunch of vague accusations that get thrown out of court for lack of evidence or specific charges.

The thing is, if you are trying to commit election fraud, you don't want to do it at the final presidential election in the first place. You want to commit the fraud earlier, when the nominations are being made. That's when most people aren't paying much attention, and a dozen votes going one way rather than the other can make a huge difference ("I don't care who gets to do the electing, as long as I get to do the nominating" - Boss Tweed). Once you get to the Final Cage Match Election, BOZO vs YAHOO, the fix is already in. Unless you really think that the general population of the US wanted the choice to be between Trump and Biden?

  4. The Garage Logic host always says he is politically lonely. And I've gone along with that. Neither party represents me in the least.
But it's beyond lonely. I am politically abandoned. And I have been disenfranchised.

Watching the reports on Tuesday night, it got old after about an hour (6pm central) no new information was being put out. A lot like the riots in Minneapolis this summer.

The biggest difference I see was the media. All summer long, the leftist riots, were consistently called "mostly peaceful". Tuesday was just called a riot.

There needs to be arrests and prosecution of the people who entered the capitol, the only picture I want to ever see of that moron sitting at Pelosi's desk or the Senate Dais is a mug shot.

Similarly, there are a lot of people that were in Minneapolis, and a huge number of people in Portland that need to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Regardless of what they were protesting, they were laying the groundwork for this stupidity.
