So Much For Trump As A Negotiator

Wouldn't you think that an expert deal-maker and negotiator, with the biggest deal of his life on the line, could have worked with all sides, bringing them to the table, helping each get something they wanted in exchange for peace and harmony during his nominating convention?

He's a fraud. Thanks a lot, Trumpkins. We could have had Ted Cruz.
Update: So Melania's speech on day 1 of his convention was plagiarized from a Michelle Obama speech? Wow. Talk about hiring the best people. Trump's so good that he hired Barack Obama's speechwriters. Strong!

  1. "We could have had Ted Cruz."

Because you just don't care that a Cruz "presidency" would be a violation of the Constitution.

How do you even imagine that we are going to return the USA to Constitutional governance when everyone and his kitten is willing to violate the Constitution if that gets him what he wants?

  2. But you must remember that not everyone will negotiate back. Ex: Can we negotiate with ISIS? No. I suspect that the extent to which the Republican entrenched "leadership" is frightened of Trump (both because he represents a fundamental threat to their power and because he's more than a bit of a loose cannon) makes them unwilling to negotiate in any manner that might help him.

As to plagiarism, I listened to the clips. They are pure political platitudes. I would bet you that every Presidential Candidate's spouse since Martha Washington has made statements very much like them.

  3. I tried to listen to the current Trump Tramp's speech; I don't think I made it to the two minute mark.

  4. I haven't listened to any of the speeches (and suspect after this and the DNC I will be 0 for N), however my local news played a series of clips from the two speeches in question. Like I said, very similar, but just the usual political platitudes. One vacuous speech and then the other with no real content (but they aren't the candidates so it makes their speeches, "who cares?"^2 anyway).
