Dogs Don't Understand Abstract Concepts

More specifically, they can't tell the difference between the printed word and what those words represent.

Here, the new Catican Guard recruits, Lily and Leah, eat cookbooks. They have confused words about food with food itself.
Sigh.

  2. I hadn't thought of that. On the other hand, the cookbook that seems to fascinate them is never used.

  3. Ah. I guess there's no accounting for tastes, particularly in dogs. Like our beagle, who used to have an inordinate fondness for electronic devices, like TV remotes.
