"Joni believes strongly that Social Security and Medicare must be preserved and protected for our seniors of today and tomorrow. She opposes any efforts to change the promised benefits for today’s seniors. At the same time she supports reforms that will strengthen both Social Security and Medicare to ensure the long-term health of both programs for generations to come."
Sorry. Social Security and Medicare are what are going to eat us alive if nothing is done about them (by cutting benefits, and/or raising taxes to pay for them). Everything else is chicken feed in comparison. Even repealing Obamacare is trivial in comparison. If she is going to flatly refuse to do anything useful about it, then she isn't really serious abut cutting spending after all.
Cute.
ReplyDeleteThe thing is, though, I went to her website to check her actual positions in her own words, and among other things it says this:

Yeah, I figured as much. No one is willing to touch the sacred cows. Having said that, one can at least hope that she won't make things much worse.
ReplyDeleteBummer that she's not serious about the budget. Still a funny ad though.
