I found this character clinging to our screen door the other day and he was nice enough to sit still while I photographed him. I didn't do a very good job of it, even this section of him isn't completely in focus. In spite of that, I think it's worth a click. Looking at the larger image, you can see his kinship with crabs and lobsters, particularly in the joints where his legs meet his body.

Not too shabby. You were clearly focused on it (parts of it are pretty sharp), but the microscopic depth-of-field in macro photography is giving you some problems. The focal plane was only about a millimeter or two thick.
ReplyDeleteYou could improve the depth-of-field by going on aperture priority, and setting it to around f-20 or so, except then you'll run into light issues. What you have here might be as good as you can do without a flash (or other really bright light) and/or tripod.
