I watched a Vatican funded physics researcher last night who made the following point. Unlike the Bible, a science text needs to be updated every ten years. To equate the Bible to a science text is to fundamentally fail to respect its message. The Bible is timeless.
Why is it that Christianity has been able to survive confrontation with science and economics in the modern era with its identity intact, but Islam, not so much. Islam must retreat to a medieval view of the world that leaves it incapable of coping with the reality of this age.
