- A massive addition of predators (lacewings, lady beetles, or mealybug destroyers); or
- Fire or ice. Insecticides might help a bit too, but from what my friend Michelle had to say about this sort of things in greenhouses, the insecticides don't work nearly as well as one might like.
"Some say the [scales] will end in fire, Some say in ice. From what I've tasted of desire I hold with those who favor fire. But if [they] had to perish twice, I think I know enough of hate To say that for destruction ice Is also great And would suffice."

ReplyDeleteWhat you need, my friend, is either:
- A massive addition of predators (lacewings, lady beetles, or mealybug destroyers); or
- Fire or ice. Insecticides might help a bit too, but from what my friend Michelle had to say about this sort of things in greenhouses, the insecticides don't work nearly as well as one might like.
"Some say the [scales] will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if [they] had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice."
- slight paraphrase of Robert Frost
