Dr. Hern sees man as a cancer on the planet, making him, by inference, the antibody.
(The Esquire article linked above references) one of his many scientific publications, which have titles like Shipibo Polygyny and Patrilocality or Urban Malignancy: Similarity in the Fractal Dimensions of Urban Morphology and Malignant Neoplasms. This one argues that man is a "malignant ecotumor" laying waste the planet.Dr. Hern is a mass of contradictions - so many, in fact, that one could easily generate a whole series of blog posts about them. I might revisit this in the future, but let's just cut to the chase and knock off the biggest one first.
Dr. Hern is unhappy that he's receiving death threats. Oh sure, he's not actually been killed and the number of abortionist murders in the last 10 years in the entire country would qualify as a very quiet night in the ganglands of Chicago, but he's upset that he's been threatened. I don't get it at all.
Dr. Hern, as near as I can tell, is an atheist. This means that his life has no intrinsic meaning. If Man is a cancer on the Earth, then killing anyone is a good thing, whether that be a baby or Dr. Hern or you or me. In fact, one could argue that Dr. Hern is actually hurting the planet and keeping us from really going after the ecotumor that is human civilization.
After all, one of the babies he's aborting could be the next Chairman Mao.
What's that old line... "Everyone that supports abortion has already been born."
ReplyDeleteFurther irony: Hern does indeed believe life has intrinsic meaning. At least, his life. Otherwise, wouldn't he off himself?
ReplyDeleteHe must feel important enough to the cause to keep himself around to do the important work of ridding the planet of these cancers. But he's not a cancer, himself, you see.
And for believing what you believe instead of what I believe, you are a racist.
Dean, I'm not warning you again. If you persist in this racism, you will be banned from this site.

I find it fascinating that, despite the tremendous suffering that so many women - Marie Stopes being the obvious but by no means the only example - went through to give fellow women the right to decide what to do with their own bodies, people like you seem determined to bring us back to the dark ages.
ReplyDeleteI feel so, so sorry for you.
I eagerly await the defense of vehicular homicide as doing what one wants with one's own car.
