One of Momma Daisy's daughters is blooming. Some of her blooms are the soft red shown below. I have no idea what causes her to bring forth variations on her standard orange flowers. I wonder if there is a way to cause it through the use of particular fertilizers. Hmmm.

Years ago, I read a mystery short-story where the whole case hinged on finding the murder weapon. Ultimately the detective found it because it had been buried under a patch of flowers that were normally white - but that turned red due to the addition of iron in the soil (from the rusting pistol). Unfortunately, I don't remember what kind of flower was involved, I don't *think* it was a daisy. But, you could try manipulating the iron levels anyway.
