Paying my taxes, due in less than a week. The costs of the current wars are pegged at $822 billion to date. This cost is being hidden from the public. I understand why we are fighting these wars, but the lack of accountability over the way we are spending this money is very troubling. Further, the war costs are causing inflation to ripple through the economy. The initial incompetence in handling the Iraq invasion's immediate aftermath has cost America dearly; I wish General Petraeus speedy success.
$822 billion? That's only about $2,000 per person. Granted, about 4 times as much if you only look at income producing members of the country, but cheap nonetheless.
Think of all the extra oil that is now flowing from Iraq, getting the fuel prices down to an all time low(almost)!
Vote Republican and we can keep doing this for another 100 years.
