PHP in Blogger?

Two weeks ago, I went to a PERL training class so I could at least read the code for plug ins for Movable Type, if not write new ones myself. At the class, I was introduced to PHP (yes, I know, I'm way behind the times technically) and wondered if I could embed PHP scripts in blog posts. My tiny trials haven't worked yet and I've yet to find a definitive answer by googling the topic. As I fiddle around with it, I will continue to blog my results. I'm not sure just what I intend to accomplish with the PHP code in my blog. For starters, I just want to play around.
