A Manly Paradise

For the next three hours I shall experience Manly Nirvana as I work on my MG B, listen to the New Orleans Saints game over the Internet through my mammoth sound system in the garage and keep the garage TV tuned to the Tampa Bay - Washington game with the sound down.

Is there anything better than working on a British sports car?
Glorious!

  1. Heh, Not if it's your Second ride.

It's been a LOONG time for me, actually High School. "62 Morris Mini..(Cooperized).

    Loved that little car.
    Hated that little car.

Damm engine was in sideways, metric tools were a pain to get hold of, Large buddies kept lifting it onto the wrong side of low fences......

I think I'll buy another. heh

  2. Next stop? Aston Martin. And I'm sure that I've spelled that wrong.

  3. My first vehicle was a little 250cc Yamaha motorcycle. Texas law requires an engine size limit for your first year of having a motorcycle license if you're under 18, so I was stuck with that. Honestly, that little bike had decent power (topped out at about 75 MPH) and 55 miles per gallon wasn't bad at all.

My second one was another motorcycle, a 600cc '88 Honda Shadow. By that time my brother had gotten his motorcycle license and needed the 250.

    I want a bike again.

Hmmm... IMHO yes. Working on a German luxury car, hehehe. Mainly due to the superiority of Bosch electrics over Lucas. Having said that, mine is at the auto-electrician's right now. The problems are fixed, just waiting on a battery to turn up, then put the rear seat in and we're away.

  5. Thanks for all these great suggestions for another car!

I used to own a DeLorean. That car was so cool. It was a pure vanity car. You owned it so people would look at you. It was a great Frankenstein's monster of parts and pieces, integrating automotive systems from all over Europe.

For now, however, I'm happy with my Time Eater. That's it's name, by the way. The license plate says TIMEATR and the license plate holder claims it's from Chronovore Imports, Ltd.

True to form, it ate the better part of the weekend. Not to worry. I cranked up AC/DC on the garage stereo and was 24 again, getting grease under my fingernails.

TIMEATR ? Now THAT would have looked good on a Delorean. Christopher Lloyd would approve.
