Here's another reason why I'll vote for Fred.
Several things to note.
1. He answers the questions directly.
2. He is intellectually consistent.
3. He is not trying to be the moral police one way or the other.
As a pro-life Catholic, I can live with all of that.
Abortion's a non-issue for the simple fact that it's not going to change. If it happens in my lifetime I'll seriously be surprised.
ReplyDeleteBut yes, hearing a clear answer from a politician is extremely refreshing.
Brave guy to actually speak his mind. I'm contrasting this with the Hildabeast's yes - no - maybe from the last debate.
ReplyDeleteKT, I get where Fred is coming from and I agree to a point. However, I just can't get over what a ghoulish practice it is and the hypocricy that surrounds how we handle abortions with respect to other "medical procedures".
ReplyDeleteOne more thing: Is "federalist" the new "states-righters" as "progressive" is the new "liberal"?
ReplyDeleteJust don't want to be left behind, for cryin' out loud.
Dean,
ReplyDeleteYes, Federalism is essentially saying that the Federal government shouldn't be involved in anything it doesn't absolutely have to.
KT, I knew the definition - I was just commenting on the shift away from two terms that carry varying degrees of baggage.
ReplyDeleteAir America is "progressive", even though everyone knows they're still just good ol' fashion libs. And Fred Thompson is a "Federalist" to make it clear he isn't a part of any militia group.
