I tried to migrate to the new version of Blogger. It thought and thought and thought and then told me it couldn't migrate me right now and I should try later. No worries. However, now, when I try to leave comments on other Blogger blogs, like Justin's, where the owner has managed to migrate, Blogger tells me it doesn't know who I am and cannot recognize my log in information!
Aaaaaauuuuuugggghhhhhhhhh!
Update Rose of Sharon has the same problem. She's got a pretty funny post about it, too.
This is happening to lots of us. To get around it, I just choose "Other" and then type in my user name and URL. It works, most of the time.
ReplyDeleteRemember, these "improvements" are not for you. They are for the blog department of Google.
ReplyDeleteThey don't care about you. They ask you to let them put ads on your site, but they refuse to tell you what their own rate card is, ineffect allowing them to give you whatever they decide to give you.
I clicked several times on the new version only to discover that there was virtually nothing in it for me except a vague promise that it works better -- a promise you are evidently disproving.
Nuts to them and the bandwith they came in on, and no, I'm going to make them dig to learn my identity.
Your Pal,

Southern Girl, thanks for letting me know I'm not alone.
ReplyDeleteAnon, I am inclined to agree with you. On the other hand, I decided to accept their free offer of a blog and it's up to me to learn how "free" doesn't always mean "free".
Hey K T Cat, I'm sorry that you're having the same problem that I did. I say did because I caved...yes, I caved in and converted to the darkside, um, I mean beta blogger. Yes, I was weak. I was weak!
ReplyDeleteMy problem was that it started out as having to post as Other or Anonymous, but then I couldn't post AT ALL! So I gave in.
Others who have been on my blog are saying that everyone will eventually be moved to beta and it will eventually be just blogger, not beta blogger.
Good luck!!!!!
