If progressives and socialists can at last convince the American public that their country was always hopelessly flawed, they can gain power to remake it based on their own interests. These elites see Americans not as unique individuals but as race, class, and gender collectives, with shared grievances from the past that must be paid out in the present and the future.Who cares how many people go see the movie? The job of the movie is not to entertain, it's to blow things up. You can't make an omelette without breaking eggs, you know.

A 007mm Artillery Barrage
So the new James Bond, err, 007 character is going to be a black woman. Of course she is. Because that's what people want, right? No? Well, that's what you're going to get because the Secular Left is going to take out another cultural icon in its battlefield preparation for fundamentally remaking society.

Well, of course the point of the movie is to blow things up. It's a James Bond movie! They always blow stuff up! The whole movie is normally a series of progressively increasing catastrophies that build to a massive explosive climax!
To be honest, as long as enough stuff blows up real good (along with an appropriate number of fights with weird and wonderful gadgets), I doubt the average moviegoer cares if Bond is a man, woman, black, white, green, hexapedal, or exoskeletal. The Bond-creature just needs to make appropriate quips and perform amusing stunts to accompany the explosions.
Kids and their modern toys... need to be more retro.

Going off of the press releases-- basically they're all fixated on the new 007 having no interest in Bond's advances-- I am guessing that she will be 1) Lesbian, and 2) will go bi for Bond at the end of the movie.
Which makes it less a subversion/transition than a "going to the next level up" thing.
