White Privilege, Explained

I have to admit, I did not understand white privilege until today. Now that I know what it is, I see it everywhere. It's like the air we breathe.

This morning, I'm going to make sardines on toast for breakfast. I want to add some sliced mushrooms to the mix, but I can't find the Internet recipe I used once upon a time, so I'm going to have to shotgun the thing. Here's the plan.

Using one of my cast iron skillets, I'm going to drain the oil from a tin of sardines into it and heat it on my stove. While it's warming, I'll slice some whole, brown mushrooms I got from Costco. After it's hot, I'll saute the shrooms with some minced garlic, parsley and red pepper flakes, adding the sardines at the end to warm them up.

While I'm doing this, I'll toast my bread.

At the end, I'll take the bread, put the sardine / mushroom mix on top and eat it.

And that, my friends, is white privilege. It affects you every day. Positively if you're one persuasion, negatively if not. I'm sure that if you work at it, you'll learn to notice it in your own life, like the next time you change a tire, buy some shoes, teach your son to hit a baseball or look for your car keys between the cushions of the couch.

You're welcome.

That was over my head.

Here is my take on what "White Privilege" is ... Everyone in the world -- except certain loathsome whites who actually *have* unearned privilege and who loathe whites without such unearned privilege (*) … and which unearned privilege (or loathing) they have no intention of ever giving up -- wants to *be* whiter that they are.

(*) BTW, they tend to loathe non-whites even more

Wait, are you suggesting that I was able to go through my daily routine and solve problems without my skin color having an impact? Are you suggesting the body of the post had nothing whatsoever to do with the premise or the conclusion?

Heretic!

Oh, now! I never "suggest" things -- "suggesting" is for academics and other pussies -- I state truths: ancestral background, and thus race, has little to do with most competencies one may acquire or display.

But, yes, that's heresy both to the open leftist and to the crypto-leftists who call themselves "alt-right".

Amen about the alt-right.

What's up with the anti-Semitism thing, anyway? I've read the Koran and much of Mein Kampf and I have yet to figure out just what it is about Jews I'm supposed to hate. Yet there they are, tweeting hideous things at people like Jonah Golderg and Ben Shapiro. Once in a while, I've gone into their timelines to see if I can see anything that makes sense, but I've come up with zip. Not surprising, I suppose. It's not like Mein Kampf holds together, either.

A lot of Jew-hatred (including some coming from leftists-and-atheists of Jewish background), not all of it of course, is sublimated Christ-hatred.

Some Jew-hatred goes all the way back to the pagan Greeks of the pre-Christian era. My view on that particular branch is that when the Greek philosophers began to reason their way to such knowledge of God as reason-absent-revelation can deliver, it really pissed them off that the Jews had already known most of their discoveries for many centuries.
